FAQs

Colombian Coffee exhibits a mild acidity & a robust caramel sweetness, sometimes with a nutty undertone, similar to high quality Peruvian coffees. They have the most identifiable coffee flavour in North America, being sweet & medium-bodied.

It is possible to make stronger Colombian coffee in comparison to other coffee types. The strength of the coffee is influenced by the processing, roasting and brewing methods. Therefore, Colombian coffee is only stronger if it is made to be stronger.  Higher percentage of low quality beans produce a bitter coffee, but Colombian coffee keeps its taste profile even when pushed via more rigorous and vigorous brewing methods.

Colombian beans make a taste that is smooth, balanced, and light in body. There can be also overtones of fruit, almonds, & dark chocolate in the flavour profile.

Colombian coffee is among one the best on the globe. Colombia has a long history of farming Arabica coffee beans, and the country’s specific topography makes it ideal for making a delicious, high quality bean. The coffee is known worldwide for its flavour and the distinct mild but rich aroma which rises from each cup. That may explain why they have been producing coffee for ~200 years, and it’s been their highest export for most of that period.

Many people consider Costa Rican coffee as the top one in Central America. Altitude classes are assigned to Costa Rican beans, with the highest-rated beans farmed at the highest elevation. These beans are called “strictly high grown”.

In a little pot, boil water and panela. Panela is a product that is made from sugarcane, it is sweet & brown, is marketed in blocks or grated and the taste is like that of brown sugar. Decrease heat to low & simmer for 30 minutes, occasionally stirring to melt panela.

In a little French press, place the ground coffee. Pour Aguapanela (Aguapanela or Agua de Panela translates to “panela water”) over coffee until it reaches the top of the French press.

Brew for four minutes, stirring only once. Push down the French press and pour the coffee right away.

Colombian coffee beans are most suited for a dark roast.  This as a result of the fuller, floral flavour, but light roasts made from Colombian beans are just as flavourful. While keeping the bean’s taste, cocoa and caramel flavours are brought to the forefront. The tastes & smells of medium to dark roasts are stronger.

Colombian coffee’s producing conditions & processes make it thought to be the best by a lot of people, especially due to its distinct flavour. Farmers of the Arabica beans produce flavourful coffee with outstanding quality at higher altitudes. They are then processed natually on small farms by hand. The higher elevation produces a nicer tasting bean. Due to its favourable meteorological characteristics, Colombia coffee is a rich, somewhat fruity, & chocolaty flavour.

The caffeine content of Colombian coffee is comparable to that of other coffees. The caffeine concentration of a dark roast coffee is slightly greater than that of a light roast coffee. The difference is small & may not be noticable. Depending on the sub-variety and amount of roasting, top quality Colombian Arabica coffee has 30-50 milligrams per each espresso serving and up to 200 milligrams in an 235ml (~8-ounce) cup.

Colombian beans are among the most well-known and popular in the world of coffee. They have a full-bodied flavour which is well-balanced. Guatemalan beans are more praised for their robust & balanced flavours than for their particular flavour profile. Guatemala coffee is also very tasty coffee.

    • The hulling proceedure

Colombian coffee beans are dried benith the sun for a few days or until the moisture amount gets to about ten percent. This helps in the bean’s drying & prepares it for hulling. Sumatran coffee spends far less time in the sunshine. Sumatran coffee is hulled with substantially greater water amount, at times as much as 20%.

To remove the hulls, special wet hulling equipment is needed. The wet hulling equipment also allows the coffee beans to ferment, giving them a distinct flavor that you will not find anywhere.

    • Acidity and flavour

Colombian coffee has a well-balanced flavour and moderate acidity. This coffee has a bit of a bite to it, but it is not overly harsh. Because of its smooth flavour, several coffee connoisseurs consider Colombian coffee to be among the greatest in the world. Sumatran coffee has a much lower acidity level. This makes it one of the greatest coffees for acid sensitivity.

Sumatran coffee has a distinctive flavour. It has earthy undertones that set it apart from the competition. You will detect hints of bell pepper, mushrooms, and even herbs when drinking Sumatran coffee. The way the coffee is processed and the land in which it is grown contribute to this flavour.

The Colombian coffee area, is called the Coffee Triangle. It is a part of the Colombian Paisa region in the rural area of Colombia. It is renound for culturing the majority of Colombian coffee.
