FAQs

Colombian Coffee exhibits a mild acidity and a robust caramel sweetness, possibly with a nutty undertone, similar to high quality Peruvian coffees. They have the most identifiable coffee flavour in North America, being sweet & medium-bodied.

It is possible to make strong Colombian coffee compared to other coffee types. The strength of the coffee is determined by the processing, roasting and brewing process. Thus, Colombian coffee is just stronger if it is made to be strong.  Increased proportions of lower-quality beans produce a bitter brew, but Colombian coffee maintains its taste profile even when pushed via more rigorous and vigorous brewing processes.

Colombian coffee beans provide a flavour that is smooth, balanced, and light in body. There are also overtones of fruit, almonds, & dark chocolate in the taste profile.

Colombian coffee beans are among one the best on the globe. Colombia has a long history of culturing Arabica coffee, and the country’s specific topography makes it perfect for producing a delicious, high-quality drink. The coffee is known accross the world for its taste & the destinctive mild but rich aroma that comes from each cup. This could explain why they have been exporting coffee for ~200 years, & it’s been their leading export for most of that period.

Most people regard Costa Rican coffee as the best in Central America. Elevation ratings are given to Costa Rican beans, with the best rated beans farmed at the highest elevation. These beans are known as “strictly high grown”.

In a little pot, bring water & panela to a boil. Panela is a product that is made from sugarcane, it is sweet & brown, is sold in blocks or grated and the taste is like that of brown sugar. Decrease heat to low & simmer for 30 min, occasionally stirring to melt panela.

In a little French press, place the ground beans. Pour Aguapanela (Aguapanela or Agua de Panela translates to “panela water”) over coffee until it reaches the top of the French press.

allow it to stand for 4 minutes, stirring only once. Push down the French press and pour the coffee straight away.

Colombian coffee is most suited for a dark roast.  This due to the fuller, floral flavour, however light roasts made from Colombian beans are equally delicious. While keeping the bean’s taste, cocoa and caramel flavours are brought to the forefront. The tastes and aromas of medium to dark roasts are stronger.

Colombian coffee’s producing conditions & processes make it thought to be the best by many people, especially due to its distinct taste. Farmers of the Arabica beans produce tasty coffee with great quality at high altitudes. They are then naturally prepared on small farms by hand. The higher altitude makes for a better tasting coffee bean. Due to its favourable meteorological conditions, Colombian coffee is a rich, somewhat fruity, and chocolaty flavour.

The caffeine content of Colombian coffee is comparable to that of other coffee beans. The caffeine content of a dark roast coffee is slightly greater than that of a light roast coffee. The difference is small & may not be noticable. Depending on the sub-variety and amount of roasting, high-quality Colombian Arabica coffee has 30-50 mg per each espresso serving and up to 200 mg in an 235ml (~8-ounce) cup.

Colombian beans are among the most well-known & popular in the world of coffee. They have a full-bodied taste which is well-balanced. Guatemalan beans are more known for their robust & balanced tastes than for their particular taste profile. Guatemala coffee is also very good coffee.

    • The hulling proceedure

Colombian coffee beans are dried under the sun for a few days or until the moisture content gets to around ten percent. This helps in the bean’s drying & prepares it for hulling. Sumatran coffee stays a lot less time in the sunshine. Sumatran coffee is hulled with substantially higher water content, at times as much as 20 percent.

To remove the hulls, special wet hulling equipment is needed. The wet hulling equipment also allows the coffee beans to ferment, giving them a distinct flavor that you will not find anywhere.

    • Acidity and flavour

Colombian coffee has a well-balanced flavour and moderate acidity. This coffee has a bit of a bite to it, but it is not overly harsh. Because of its smooth flavour, several coffee connoisseurs consider Colombian coffee to be among the greatest in the world. Sumatran coffee has a much lower acidity level. This makes it one of the greatest coffees for acid sensitivity.

Sumatran coffee has a distinctive flavour. It has earthy undertones that set it apart from the competition. You will detect hints of bell pepper, mushrooms, and even herbs when drinking Sumatran coffee. The way the coffee is processed and the land in which it is grown contribute to this flavour.
