FAQs

Colombian Coffee has a mild acidity and a robust caramel sweetness, occationally with a nutty undertone, similar to higher-quality Peruvian coffee. They have the most identifiable coffee flavour in North America, that of sweet & medium-bodied.

It is possible to make stronger Colombian coffee compared to non-Colombian coffee. The strength of the coffee can be altered by the processing, roasting & brewing process. Therefore, Colombian coffee is just stronger if it is made to be strong.  Higher proportions of low quality beans result in a bitter coffee, but Colombian coffee maintains its taste integrity even when pushed via more rigorous & vigorous brewing methods.

These beans make a cup that is smooth, balanced, & light in body. There can be also overtones of fruit, almonds, and dark chocolate in the taste profile.

Colombian coffee is among one the best in the world. Colombia has a long history of farming Arabica coffee, & the country’s particular topography makes it perfect for making a delicious, top quality coffee bean. The coffee is known accross the world for its flavour & the distinct mild but rich aroma that comes from each brew. This could explain why they have been exporting coffee for about 200 years, & it’s been their biggest export for the majority of that time.

Most people regard Costa Rican coffee as the top one in Central America. Elevation classes are given to Costa Rican beans, with the highest-rated beans farmed at the greatest elevation. These beans are known as “strictly high grown”.

In a small pot, boil water and panela. Panela is a product that is made from sugarcane, it is sweet and brown, is sold in blocks or grated & the flavour is similar to that of brown sugar. Decrease heat to low & simmer for 30 min, stir occationally to melt panela.

In a tiny French press, put the ground beans. Pour Aguapanela (Aguapanela or Agua de Panela translates to “panela water”) over coffee until it reaches the top of the French press.

Brew for 4 min, stirring once during the time. Plunge the French press & pour the coffee straight away.

Colombian coffee is most suited for a dark roast.  This as a result of the fuller, floral taste, however light roasts made from Colombian beans are equally delicious. While retaining the bean’s flavour, cocoa and caramel flavours are brought to the forefront. The tastes & smells of medium to dark roasts are stronger.

Colombian coffee’s cultivating conditions & processes make it thought to be the best by many people, especially because of its distinct taste. Farmers of the Arabica beans produce tasty coffee with outstanding quality at higher altitudes. They are then prepared natually on small farms by hand. The higher elevation produces a nicer tasting coffee bean. Because of its favourable meteorological conditions, Colombian coffee is a rich, somewhat fruity, and chocolaty flavour.

The caffeine concentration of Colombian coffee is comparable to that of other coffee varieties. The caffeine content of a dark roast coffee is slightly more than that of a light roast coffee. The difference is small and may go unnoticed. Depending on the sub-variety and amount of roasting, high quality Colombian Arabica coffee has 30-50 milligrams per single espresso serving & up to 200 milligrams in an 235ml (~8-ounce) cup.

Colombian beans are among the most renound & popular in the world of coffee. They have a full-bodied taste that is well-balanced. Guatemalan beans are more praised for their robust & balanced tastes than for their particular flavour profile. Guatemala coffee is also very tasty coffee.

    • The hulling proceedure

Colombian coffee beans are dried benith the sun over a few days or until the water amount reaches around 10 percent. This helps in the bean’s drying & prepares it for hulling. Sumatran coffee stays a lot less time in the sun. Sumatran coffee is hulled with a lot higher water content, sometimes as high as 20 percent.

To remove the hulls, special wet hulling equipment is needed. The wet hulling equipment also allows the coffee beans to ferment, giving them a distinct flavor that you will not find anywhere.

    • Acidity and flavour

Colombian coffee has a well-balanced flavour and moderate acidity. This coffee has a bit of a bite to it, but it is not overly harsh. Because of its smooth flavour, several coffee connoisseurs consider Colombian coffee to be among the greatest in the world. Sumatran coffee has a much lower acidity level. This makes it one of the greatest coffees for acid sensitivity.

Sumatran coffee has a distinctive flavour. It has earthy undertones that set it apart from the competition. You will detect hints of bell pepper, mushrooms, and even herbs when drinking Sumatran coffee. The way the coffee is processed and the land in which it is grown contribute to this flavour.

The Colombian coffee region, is named the Coffee Triangle. It is a part of the Colombian Paisa area in the regional area of Colombia. It is famous for growing the majority of Colombian coffee.
