FAQs

Colombian Coffee has a mild acidity and a robust caramel sweetness, possibly with a nut undertone, similar to good quality Peruvian beans. They have the most identifiable coffee taste in North America, that of sweet & medium bodied.

It is possible to make strong Colombian coffee compared to other coffee types. The strength of the coffee will depend on the processing, roasting & brewing process. Therefore, Colombian coffee is just strong if it is made to be strong.  Increased amounts of low quality beans produce a bitter coffee, but Colombian coffee maintains its taste profile even when pushed via more rigorous and vigorous brewing methods.

Colombian coffee beans produce a taste that is smooth, balanced, and light in body. There can be also overtones of fruit, almonds, & dark chocolate in the taste profile.

Colombian coffee is among one the best on the globe. Colombia has a long history of producing Arabica coffee, and the country’s specific topography makes it ideal for making a tastey, top quality bean. The coffee is renowned worldwide for its taste & the destinctive mild but rich aroma which comes from each cup. That could explain why they have been producing coffee for about 200 years, and it’s been their leading export for most of that time.

Most people regard Costa Rican coffee as the best in Central America. Elevation classes are assigned to Costa Rican beans, with the highest rated beans farmed at the greatest elevation. These beans are known as strictly hard beans”.

In a small pot, bring water and panela to a boil. Panela is a product that is produced with sugarcane, it is sweet & brown, is marketed in blocks or grated and the flavour is similar to that of brown sugar. Reduce heat to low & simmer for 30 minutes, occasionally stirring to melt panela.

In a small French press, put the ground coffee. Pour Aguapanela (Aguapanela or Agua de Panela translates to “panela water”) over coffee until it reaches the brim of the French press.

Brew for four min, stirring only once. Push down the French press and pour the coffee straight away.

Colombian coffee is most suited for a dark roast.  This because of the fuller, floral taste, however light roasts made from Colombian beans are equally delicious. While keeping the bean’s taste, cocoa and caramel flavours are brought to the forefront. The tastes & aromas of medium to dark roasts are stronger.

Colombian coffee’s cultivating conditions and processes make it thought to be the best by a lot of people, particually because of its distinct taste. Farmers of the Arabica beans produce flavourful coffee with outstanding quality at higher altitudes. They are then processed natually on small farms by hand. The higher altitude produces a better flavoured coffee bean. Because of its favourable meteorological conditions, Colombian coffee is a rich, somewhat fruity, & chocolaty flavour.

The caffeine concentration of Colombian coffee is similar to that of other coffee beans. The caffeine concentration of a dark roast coffee is slightly greater than that of a light roast coffee. The difference is small and may go unnoticed. Depending on the sub-variety & degree of roasting, high quality Colombian Arabica coffee contains 30-50 mg per single espresso serving and up to 200 milligrams in an 235ml (~8-ounce) cup.

Colombian beans are among the most renound & popular in the world of coffee. They have a full-bodied taste which is well-balanced. Guatemalan beans are more praised for their robust & balanced flavours than for their particular taste profile. Guatemala coffee is also quite tasty coffee.

    • The hulling process

Colombian coffee beans are dried benith the sun for a few days or until the water content gets to around ten percent. This aids in the bean’s drying & prepares it for hulling. Sumatran coffee spends far less time in the sunshine. Sumatran coffee is hulled with substantially greater water content, sometimes as high as 20%.

To remove the hulls, special wet hulling equipment is needed. The wet hulling equipment also allows the coffee beans to ferment, giving them a distinct flavor that you will not find anywhere.

    • Acidity and flavour

Colombian coffee has a well-balanced flavour and moderate acidity. This coffee has a bit of a bite to it, but it is not overly harsh. Because of its smooth flavour, several coffee connoisseurs consider Colombian coffee to be among the greatest in the world. Sumatran coffee has a much lower acidity level. This makes it one of the greatest coffees for acid sensitivity.

Sumatran coffee has a distinctive flavour. It has earthy undertones that set it apart from the competition. You will detect hints of bell pepper, mushrooms, and even herbs when drinking Sumatran coffee. The way the coffee is processed and the land in which it is grown contribute to this flavour.

The Colombian coffee area, is known as the Coffee Triangle. It is a part of the Colombian Paisa area in the regional area of Colombia.
