FAQs

Colombian Coffee exhibits a mild acidity & a robust caramel sweetness, possibly with a nutty undertone, similar to higher-quality Peruvian coffee beans. They have the most well known coffee flavour in North America, being sweet and medium-bodied.

It is possible to make stronger Colombian coffee in comparison to non-Colombian coffee types. The strength of the coffee is determined by the processing, roasting and brewing methods. Therefore, Colombian coffee is only strong if it is prepared to be stronger.  Higher percentage of lower-quality beans produce a bitter brew, yet Colombian coffee maintains its taste profile even when pushed via more rigorous and vigorous brewing methods.

These coffee beans produce a cup that is smooth, balanced, & light in body. There can be also overtones of fruit, almonds, and dark chocolate in the flavour profile.

Colombian coffee beans are among one the finest in the world. Colombia has a long history of producing Arabica coffee, & the country’s specific topography makes it perfect for making a tastey, top quality beverage. The coffee is renowned accross the globe for its taste & the distinct mild but rich aroma which rises from each brew. That may explain why they have been producing coffee for about 200 years, and it’s been their biggest export for most of that period.

Most people regard Costa Rican coffee as the best in Central America. Elevation classes are assigned to Costa Rican beans, with the best rated beans cultivated at the greatest elevation. These beans are referred to as “strictly high grown”.

In a little saucepan, bring water and panela to a boil. Panela is a product that is made from sugarcane, it is sweet and brown, is marketed in blocks or grated and the taste is similar to that of brown sugar. Reduce heat to low & simmer for 30 min, stir occationally to melt panela.

In a small French press, put the ground coffee. Pour Aguapanela (Aguapanela or Agua de Panela translates to “panela water”) over coffee until it gets to the top of the French press.

Brew for 4 minutes, stirring once during the time. Push down the French press and pour the coffee right away.

Colombian coffee is most suited for a dark roast.  This because of the fuller, floral flavour, but light roasts made from Colombian beans are equally flavourful. While keeping the bean’s flavour, cocoa and caramel flavours are brought to the forefront. The flavours & smells of medium to dark roasts are stronger.

Colombian coffee’s cultivating conditions & processes make it thought to be the best by a lot of people, particually because of its distinct flavour. Farmers of the Arabica beans produce flavourful coffee with excellent quality at high altitudes. They are then processed natually on little farms by hand. The high elevation makes for a better flavoured bean. Due to its favourable meteorological conditions, Colombia coffee is a rich, somewhat fruity, & chocolaty taste.

The caffeine concentration of Colombian coffee is similar to that of other coffee types. The caffeine concentration of a dark roast coffee is a little bit higher than that of a light roast coffee. The difference is small and may not be noticable. Depending on the sub-variety and degree of roasting, top quality Colombian Arabica coffee has 30-50 mg per each espresso serving & up to 200 milligrams in an 235ml (~8-ounce) cup.

Colombian beans are among the most well-known & popular in the world of coffee. They have a full-bodied flavour that is well-balanced. Guatemalan beans are more known for their robust and balanced tastes than for their particular taste profile. Guatemala coffee is also quite good coffee.

    • The hulling proceedure

Colombian coffee beans are dried under the sun for a few days or until the moisture content reaches about 10 percent. This aids in the bean’s drying & preps it for hulling. Sumatran coffee spends far less time in the sunshine. Sumatran coffee is hulled with substantially greater moisture amount, at times as high as 20 percent.

To remove the hulls, special wet hulling equipment is needed. The wet hulling equipment also allows the coffee beans to ferment, giving them a distinct flavor that you will not find anywhere.

    • Acidity and flavour

Colombian coffee has a well-balanced flavour and moderate acidity. This coffee has a bit of a bite to it, but it is not overly harsh. Because of its smooth flavour, several coffee connoisseurs consider Colombian coffee to be among the greatest in the world. Sumatran coffee has a much lower acidity level. This makes it one of the greatest coffees for acid sensitivity.

Sumatran coffee has a distinctive flavour. It has earthy undertones that set it apart from the competition. You will detect hints of bell pepper, mushrooms, and even herbs when drinking Sumatran coffee. The way the coffee is processed and the land in which it is grown contribute to this flavour.

The Colombian coffee area, is named the Coffee Triangle. It is a part of the Colombian Paisa region in the rural area of Colombia. It is famous for producing the most of Colombian coffee.
