FAQs

Colombian Coffee has a mild acidity and a robust caramel sweetness, possibly with a nutty undertone, similar to higher-quality Peruvian beans. They have the most distinct coffee flavour in North America, being sweet and medium-bodied.

It is possible to produce strong Colombian coffee compared to non-Colombian coffee types. The strength of the coffee is influenced by the processing, roasting and brewing process. Thus, Colombian coffee is just stronger if it is made to be strong.  Higher percentage of lower quality beans result in a bitter brew, but Colombian coffee keeps its taste integrity even when pushed via more rigorous and vigorous brewing methods.

These beans provide a taste that is smooth, balanced, and light in body. There are also overtones of fruit, almonds, & dark chocolate in the taste profile.

Colombian coffee is among one the finest anywhere. Colombia has a long history of cultivating Arabica coffee beans, & the country’s specific topography makes it ideal for producing a tastey, top quality bean. The coffee is known accross the world for its flavour & the destinctive mild but rich aroma that rises from each cup. This may explain why they have been producing coffee for about 200 years, & it’s been their highest export for most of that period.

Most people consider Costa Rican coffee as the best in Central America. Altitude classes are assigned to Costa Rican beans, with the highest rated beans cultivated at the greatest altitude. These beans are called strictly hard beans”.

In a little saucepan, boil water and panela. Panela is a product that is made with sugarcane, it is sweet & brown, is sold in blocks or grated & the taste is like that of brown sugar. Reduce heat to low and simmer for 30 minutes, stir occationally to melt panela.

In a tiny French press, put the ground coffee beans. Pour Aguapanela (Aguapanela or Agua de Panela translates to “panela water”) over coffee until it reaches the brim of the French press.

Brew for four minutes, stirring only once. Plunge the French press and pour the coffee right away.

Colombian coffee is most suited for a dark roast.  This due to the fuller, floral flavour, but light roasts made from Colombian beans are just as flavourful. While keeping the bean’s flavour, cocoa and caramel flavours are brought to the forefront. The flavours and aromas of medium to dark roasts are stronger.

Colombian coffee’s producing conditions & processes make it thought to be the best by a lot of people, especially because of its distinct taste. Farmers of the Arabica beans produce flavourful coffee with outstanding quality at high altitudes. They are then processed natually on little farms by hand. The high altitude makes for a nicer tasting coffee bean. Because of its favourable meteorological characteristics, Colombia coffee beans are a rich, somewhat fruity, & chocolaty flavour.

The caffeine content of Colombian coffee is similar to that of other coffee beans. The caffeine concentration of a dark roast coffee is a little bit higher than that of a light roast coffee. The difference is minor and may not be noticable. Depending on the sub-variety and amount of roasting, high quality Colombian Arabica coffee has 30-50 milligrams per each espresso serving and up to 200 mg in an 235ml (~8-ounce) cup.

Colombian beans are among the most well-known and popular in the world of coffee. They have a full-bodied flavour that is well-balanced. Guatemalan beans are more praised for their robust & balanced flavours than for their particular taste profile. Guatemala coffee is also very tasty coffee.

    • The hulling process

Colombian coffee beans are dried under the sun over a few days or until the moisture amount reaches around 10 percent. This helps in the bean’s drying & preps it for hulling. Sumatran coffee spends far less time in the sun. Sumatran coffee is hulled with substantially greater water content, sometimes as much as 20 percent.

To remove the hulls, special wet hulling equipment is needed. The wet hulling equipment also allows the coffee beans to ferment, giving them a distinct flavor that you will not find anywhere.

    • Acidity and flavour

Colombian coffee has a well-balanced flavour and moderate acidity. This coffee has a bit of a bite to it, but it is not overly harsh. Because of its smooth flavour, several coffee connoisseurs consider Colombian coffee to be among the greatest in the world. Sumatran coffee has a much lower acidity level. This makes it one of the greatest coffees for acid sensitivity.

Sumatran coffee has a distinctive flavour. It has earthy undertones that set it apart from the competition. You will detect hints of bell pepper, mushrooms, and even herbs when drinking Sumatran coffee. The way the coffee is processed and the land in which it is grown contribute to this flavour.
