FAQs
Colombian Coffee exhibits a mild acidity & a robust caramel sweetness, possibly with a nutty undertone, similar to higher-quality Peruvian coffee beans. They have the most well known coffee flavour in North America, being sweet and medium bodied.
It is possible to make strong Colombian coffee in comparison to other coffee types. The strength of the coffee will depend on the processing, roasting and brewing process. Therefore, Colombian coffee is only strong if it is prepared to be strong. Increased percentage of lower-quality beans result in a bitter coffee, yet Colombian coffee keeps its taste integrity even when pushed via more rigorous & vigorous brewing processes.
Colombian beans provide a taste that is smooth, balanced, & light in body. There are also overtones of fruit, almonds, & dark chocolate in the taste profile.
Colombian coffee is among one the finest in the world. Colombia has a long history of cultivating Arabica coffee beans, & their specific topography makes it ideal for making a tastey, high-quality brew. The coffee is known worldwide for its taste & the destinctive mild but rich aroma which comes from each brew. That could explain why they have been cultivating coffee for ~200 years, & it’s been their highest export for the majority of that time.
Most people consider Costa Rican coffee as the best in Central America. Elevation classes are assigned to Costa Rican beans, with the highest-rated beans cultivated at the highest altitude. These beans are called “strictly firm beans”.
In a small saucepan, boil water and panela. Panela is a product that is produced from sugarcane, it is sweet and brown, is marketed in blocks or grated & the taste is similar to that of brown sugar. Reduce heat to low & simmer for 30 min, stir occationally to melt panela.
In a little French press, put the ground coffee. Pour Aguapanela (Aguapanela or Agua de Panela translates to “panela water”) over coffee until it gets to the brim of the French press.
allow it to stand for four minutes, stirring only once. Plunge the French press & pour the coffee right away.
Colombian coffee is most suited for a dark roast. This as a result of the fuller, floral flavour, but light roasts made from Colombian beans are equally tasty. While retaining the bean’s flavour, cocoa & caramel flavours are brought to the forefront. The tastes & smells of medium to dark roasts are stronger.
Colombian coffee’s growing conditions and processes make it considered to be the best by many people, especially because of its distinct flavour. Farmers of the Arabica beans produce tasty coffee with outstanding quality at higher elevations. They are then naturally processed on little farms by hand. The high elevation produces a nicer flavoured coffee bean. Because of its favourable climatic conditions, Colombian coffee is a rich, somewhat fruity, and chocolaty taste.
The caffeine content of Colombian coffee is similar to that of other coffee types. The caffeine content of a dark roast coffee is slightly greater than that of a light roast coffee. The difference is minor & may not be noticable. Depending on the sub-variety and amount of roasting, high quality Colombian Arabica coffee has 30-50 milligrams per each espresso serving and up to 200 mg in an 235ml (~8-ounce) cup.
Colombian beans are among the most renound and popular in the world of coffee. They have a full-bodied taste which is well-balanced. Guatemalan beans are more known for their robust & balanced tastes than for their particular flavour profile. Guatemala coffee is also very tasty coffee.
- The hulling process
Colombian coffee beans are dried under the sun for a few days or until the moisture content gets to around 10 percent. This helps in the bean’s drying and preps it for hulling. Sumatran coffee spends far less time in the sunshine. Sumatran coffee is hulled with substantially higher moisture amount, at times as much as 20%.
To remove the hulls, special wet hulling equipment is needed. The wet hulling equipment also allows the coffee beans to ferment, giving them a distinct flavor that you will not find anywhere.
- Acidity and flavour
Colombian coffee has a well-balanced flavour and moderate acidity. This coffee has a bit of a bite to it, but it is not overly harsh. Because of its smooth flavour, several coffee connoisseurs consider Colombian coffee to be among the greatest in the world. Sumatran coffee has a much lower acidity level. This makes it one of the greatest coffees for acid sensitivity.
Sumatran coffee has a distinctive flavour. It has earthy undertones that set it apart from the competition. You will detect hints of bell pepper, mushrooms, and even herbs when drinking Sumatran coffee. The way the coffee is processed and the land in which it is grown contribute to this flavour.
The Colombian coffee area, is called the Coffee Triangle. It is a part of the Colombian Paisa area in the regional area of Colombia. It is renound for growing the most of Colombian coffee. There are four departments (which are the same as States & Territories in Australia) in the area which are: Caldas, Quindío, Risaralda & Tolima.
Our main delivery areas are major cities. However, we can also deliver to regional areas. You can get your products where ever Australia post deliver to.
