FAQs

Colombian Coffee has a mild acidity and a robust caramel sweetness, occationally with a nut undertone, similar to high quality Peruvian beans. They have the most identifiable coffee taste in North America, being sweet and medium-bodied.

It is possible to make strong Colombian coffee in comparison to non-Colombian coffee types. The strength of the coffee is determined by the processing, roasting and brewing process. Therefore, Colombian coffee is only stronger if it is made to be stronger.  Increased proportions of lower quality beans result in a bitter brew, yet Colombian coffee keeps its taste profile even when pushed via more rigorous & vigorous brewing methods.

Colombian coffee beans produce a cup that is smooth, balanced, & light in body. There can be also overtones of fruit, almonds, and dark chocolate in the taste profile.

Colombian coffee is among one the finest in the world. Colombia has a long history of growing Arabica coffee, and their particular topography makes it perfect for producing a delicious, high quality drink. The coffee is renowned accross the world for its taste & the distinct mild but rich aroma that comes from each brew. That may explain why they have been cultivating coffee for about 200 years, & it’s been their highest export for most of that time.

Many people regard Costa Rican coffee as the top one in Central America. Elevation classes are given to Costa Rican beans, with the highest-rated beans grown at the highest altitude. These beans are known as “strictly high grown”.

In a small pot, boil water and panela. Panela is a product that is produced with sugarcane, it is sweet and brown, is sold in blocks or grated & the taste is like that of brown sugar. Decrease heat to low and simmer for 30 minutes, stir occationally to melt panela.

In a little French press, place the ground beans. Pour Aguapanela (Aguapanela or Agua de Panela translates to “panela water”) over coffee until it reaches the brim of the French press.

allow it to stand for 4 minutes, stirring only once. Push down the French press and pour the coffee right away.

Colombian coffee is most suited for a dark roast.  This due to the fuller, floral flavour, but light roasts made from Colombian beans are equally flavourful. While keeping the bean’s taste, cocoa & caramel flavours are brought to the forefront. The tastes & aromas of medium to dark roasts are stronger.

Colombian coffee’s producing conditions and processes make it considered to be the best by a lot of people, especially because of its distinct taste. Farmers of the Arabica beans produce tasty coffee with outstanding quality at higher elevations. They are then naturally prepared on little farms by hand. The higher elevation makes for a better tasting bean. Because of its favourable meteorological attributes, Colombian coffee beans are a rich, somewhat fruity, & chocolaty taste.

The caffeine concentration of Colombian coffee is comparable to that of other coffee varieties. The caffeine content of a dark roast coffee is slightly more than that of a light roast coffee. The difference is minor & may not be noticable. Depending on the sub-variety and amount of roasting, top quality Colombian Arabica coffee contains 30-50 milligrams per each espresso serving and up to 200 milligrams in an 235ml (~8-ounce) cup.

Colombian beans are among the most well-known & popular in the world of coffee. They have a full-bodied taste which is well-balanced. Guatemalan beans are more known for their robust and balanced tastes than for their particular taste profile. Guatemala coffee is also very good coffee.

    • The hulling proceedure

Colombian coffee beans are dried under the sun over a few days or until the water content reaches about 10%. This aids in the bean’s drying and preps it for hulling. Sumatran coffee spends far less time in the sun. Sumatran coffee is hulled with significantly higher water amount, sometimes as high as 20%.

To remove the hulls, special wet hulling equipment is needed. The wet hulling equipment also allows the coffee beans to ferment, giving them a distinct flavor that you will not find anywhere.

    • Acidity and flavour

Colombian coffee has a well-balanced flavour and moderate acidity. This coffee has a bit of a bite to it, but it is not overly harsh. Because of its smooth flavour, several coffee connoisseurs consider Colombian coffee to be among the greatest in the world. Sumatran coffee has a much lower acidity level. This makes it one of the greatest coffees for acid sensitivity.

Sumatran coffee has a distinctive flavour. It has earthy undertones that set it apart from the competition. You will detect hints of bell pepper, mushrooms, and even herbs when drinking Sumatran coffee. The way the coffee is processed and the land in which it is grown contribute to this flavour.
