FAQs

Colombian Coffee has a mild acidity and a robust caramel sweetness, occationally with a nutty undertone, similar to good quality Peruvian coffees. Colombian coffee beans have the most well known coffee taste in North America, being sweet and medium bodied.

It is possible to make strong Colombian coffee in comparison to other coffee types. The strength of the coffee is determined by the processing, roasting & brewing process. Thus, Colombian coffee is just stronger if it is made to be strong.  Higher percentage of low quality beans produce a bitter brew, but Colombian coffee maintains its flavour integrity even when pushed via more rigorous and vigorous brewing methods.

Colombian coffee beans produce a drink that is smooth, balanced, and light in body. There are also overtones of fruit, almonds, and dark chocolate in the flavour profile.

Colombian coffee beans are among one the best anywhere. Colombia has a long history of cultivating Arabica coffee beans, & the country’s specific topography makes it perfect for making a tastey, high-quality drink. The coffee is known accross the world for its flavour and the distinct mild but rich aroma which comes from each brew. That may explain why they have been producing coffee for about 200 years, and it’s been their leading export for most of that time.

Many people regard Costa Rican coffee as the top one in Central America. Altitude classes are given to Costa Rican beans, with the best rated beans farmed at the greatest elevation. These beans are known as “strictly high grown”.

In a little pot, boil water and panela. Panela is a product that is produced with sugarcane, it is sweet and brown, is marketed in blocks or grated and the flavour is like that of brown sugar. Reduce heat to low and simmer for 30 min, stir occationally to melt panela.

In a little French press, place the ground coffee. Pour Aguapanela (Aguapanela or Agua de Panela translates to “panela water”) over coffee until it reaches the top of the French press.

Brew for four minutes, stirring once during the time. Plunge the French press and pour the coffee right away.

Colombian coffee is most suited for a dark roast.  This due to the fuller, floral taste, however light roasts made from Colombian beans are just as delicious. While keeping the bean’s taste, cocoa and caramel flavours are brought to the forefront. The tastes and aromas of medium to dark roasts are stronger.

Colombian coffee’s cultivating conditions and processes make it considered to be the best by many people, especially because of its distinct taste. Farmers of the Arabica beans produce flavourful coffee with excellent quality at higher elevations. They are then naturally processed on little farms by hand. The higher elevation makes for a nicer flavoured coffee bean. Because of its favourable climatic conditions, Colombia coffee is a rich, somewhat fruity, & chocolaty taste.

The caffeine content of Colombian coffee is similar to that of other coffee beans. The caffeine content of a dark roast coffee is slightly higher than that of a light roast coffee. The difference is small and may not be noticable. Depending on the sub-variety & amount of roasting, top quality Colombian Arabica coffee contains 30-50 milligrams per each espresso serving and up to 200 mg in an 235ml (~8-ounce) cup.

Colombian coffee beans are among the most well-known and popular in the world of coffee. They have a full-bodied taste that is well-balanced. Guatemalan beans are more known for their robust & balanced tastes than for their particular taste profile. Guatemala coffee is also very good coffee.

    • The hulling process

Colombian coffee beans are dried under the sun for a few days or until the moisture amount gets to about 10 percent. This aids in the bean’s drying & preps it for hulling. Sumatran coffee spends far less time in the sunshine. Sumatran coffee is hulled with significantly greater water amount, at times as high as 20 percent.

To remove the hulls, special wet hulling equipment is needed. The wet hulling equipment also allows the coffee beans to ferment, giving them a distinct flavor that you will not find anywhere.

    • Acidity and flavour

Colombian coffee has a well-balanced flavour and moderate acidity. This coffee has a bit of a bite to it, but it is not overly harsh. Because of its smooth flavour, several coffee connoisseurs consider Colombian coffee to be among the greatest in the world. Sumatran coffee has a much lower acidity level. This makes it one of the greatest coffees for acid sensitivity.

Sumatran coffee has a distinctive flavour. It has earthy undertones that set it apart from the competition. You will detect hints of bell pepper, mushrooms, and even herbs when drinking Sumatran coffee. The way the coffee is processed and the land in which it is grown contribute to this flavour.
