FAQs

Colombian Coffee exhibits a mild acidity & a robust caramel sweetness, possibly with a nutty undertone, similar to good quality Peruvian coffees. They have the most identifiable coffee taste in North America, being sweet & medium bodied.

It is possible to make strong Colombian coffee in comparison to other coffee. The strength of the coffee can be altered by the processing, roasting & brewing process. Thus, Colombian coffee is just stronger if it is prepared to be strong.  Increased percentage of low quality beans make a bitter coffee, yet Colombian coffee keeps its taste profile even when pushed via more rigorous and vigorous brewing processes.

Colombian beans produce a cup that is smooth, balanced, & light in body. There are also overtones of fruit, almonds, & dark chocolate in the taste profile.

Colombian coffee is among one the best anywhere. Colombia has a long history of culturing Arabica coffee beans, and their specific topography makes it perfect for making a tastey, high quality brew. The coffee is renowned accross the world for its taste & the distinct mild but rich aroma that rises from each cup. This could explain why they have been producing coffee for about 200 years, & it’s been their biggest export for most of that period.

Most people consider Costa Rican coffee as the top one in Central America. Elevation ratings are given to Costa Rican beans, with the highest rated beans produced at the highest altitude. These beans are referred to as strictly hard beans”.

In a small saucepan, bring water and panela to a boil. Panela is a product that is produced from sugarcane, it is sweet and brown, is sold in blocks or grated and the flavour is similar to that of brown sugar. Reduce heat to low and cook for 30 min, stir occationally to melt panela.

In a tiny French press, put the ground coffee. Pour Aguapanela (Aguapanela or Agua de Panela translates to “panela water”) over coffee until it reaches the brim of the French press.

allow it to stand for four min, stirring once during the time. Push down the French press & pour the coffee straight away.

Colombian coffee is best as a dark roast.  This because of the fuller, floral taste, but light roasts made from Colombian beans are just as flavourful. While keeping the bean’s taste, cocoa and caramel flavours are brought to the forefront. The flavours & smells of medium to dark roasts are stronger.

Colombian coffee’s producing conditions & processes make it thought to be the best by a lot of people, particually because of its distinct taste. Farmers of the Arabica beans produce tasty coffee with excellent quality at high altitudes. They are then naturally prepared on little farms by hand. The higher elevation produces a nicer flavoured bean. Because of its favourable meteorological characteristics, Colombia coffee beans are a rich, somewhat fruity, and chocolaty taste.

The caffeine content of Colombian coffee is similar to that of other coffee beans. The caffeine content of a dark roast coffee is a little bit higher than that of a light roast coffee. The difference is minor and may not be noticable. Depending on the sub-variety and degree of roasting, top quality Colombian Arabica coffee contains 30-50 milligrams per each espresso serving & up to 200 mg in an 235ml (~8-ounce) cup.

Colombian coffee beans are among the most well-known & popular in the world of coffee. They have a full-bodied flavour that is well-balanced. Guatemalan beans are more known for their robust and balanced tastes than for their particular flavour profile. Guatemala coffee is also very tasty coffee.

    • The hulling process

Colombian coffee beans are dried benith the sun for a few days or until the water amount gets to around 10%. This helps in the bean’s drying & prepares it for hulling. Sumatran coffee spends a lot less time in the sun. Sumatran coffee is hulled with a lot greater water content, at times as high as twenty percent.

To remove the hulls, special wet hulling equipment is needed. The wet hulling equipment also allows the coffee beans to ferment, giving them a distinct flavor that you will not find anywhere.

    • Acidity and flavour

Colombian coffee has a well-balanced flavour and moderate acidity. This coffee has a bit of a bite to it, but it is not overly harsh. Because of its smooth flavour, several coffee connoisseurs consider Colombian coffee to be among the greatest in the world. Sumatran coffee has a much lower acidity level. This makes it one of the greatest coffees for acid sensitivity.

Sumatran coffee has a distinctive flavour. It has earthy undertones that set it apart from the competition. You will detect hints of bell pepper, mushrooms, and even herbs when drinking Sumatran coffee. The way the coffee is processed and the land in which it is grown contribute to this flavour.
