FAQs

Colombian Coffee has a mild acidity & a robust caramel sweetness, occationally with a nut undertone, similar to higher-quality Peruvian coffees. They have the most distinct coffee taste in North America, being sweet and medium bodied.

It is possible to produce strong Colombian coffee in comparison to non-Colombian coffee types. The strength of the coffee is determined by the processing, roasting & brewing methods. Thus, Colombian coffee is only stronger if it is made to be stronger.  Increased amounts of lower quality beans produce a bitter coffee, but Colombian coffee keeps its taste integrity even when pushed via more rigorous and vigorous brewing methods.

Colombian coffee beans provide a cup that is smooth, balanced, and light in body. There can be also overtones of fruit, almonds, & dark chocolate in the flavour profile.

Colombian coffee is among one the best anywhere. Colombia has a long history of cultivating Arabica coffee, and the country’s specific topography makes it ideal for making a delicious, top quality bean. The coffee is known worldwide for its taste & the distinct mild but rich aroma which comes from each cup. That may explain why they have been producing coffee for ~200 years, and it’s been their leading export for most of that period.

Many people consider Costa Rican coffee as the best in Central America. Elevation classes are given to Costa Rican beans, with the highest-rated beans cultivated at the greatest elevation. These beans are named “strictly firm beans”.

In a small pot, bring water and panela to a boil. Panela is a product that is made from sugarcane, it is sweet and brown, is sold in blocks or grated and the taste is like that of brown sugar. Decrease heat to low and simmer for 30 min, occasionally stirring to melt panela.

In a tiny French press, put the ground beans. Pour Aguapanela (Aguapanela or Agua de Panela translates to “panela water”) over coffee until it reaches the top of the French press.

allow it to stand for four min, stirring once during the time. Plunge the French press & pour the coffee right away.

Colombian coffee is most suited for a dark roast.  This due to the fuller, floral taste, but light roasts made from Colombian beans are equally delicious. While retaining the bean’s flavour, cocoa & caramel flavours are brought to the forefront. The tastes & aromas of medium to dark roasts are stronger.

Colombian coffee’s growing conditions & processes make it thought to be the best by many people, especially due to its distinct taste. Farmers of the Arabica beans produce flavourful coffee with great quality at higher altitudes. They are then processed natually on little farms by hand. The higher altitude makes for a better tasting coffee bean. Due to its favourable climatic conditions, Colombia coffee beans are a rich, somewhat fruity, and chocolaty taste.

The caffeine concentration of Colombian coffee is comparable to that of other coffee types. The caffeine content of a dark roast coffee is a little bit higher than that of a light roast coffee. The difference is minor and may go unnoticed. Depending on the sub-variety and degree of roasting, top quality Colombian Arabica coffee contains 30-50 mg per each espresso serving and up to 200 mg in an 235ml (~8-ounce) cup.

Colombian coffee beans are among the most well-known & popular in the world of coffee. They have a full-bodied taste which is well-balanced. Guatemalan beans are more known for their robust and balanced tastes than for their particular taste profile. Guatemala coffee is also very good coffee.

    • The hulling proceedure

Colombian coffee beans are dried benith the sun for a few days or until the water amount reaches around 10 percent. This aids in the bean’s drying & prepares it for hulling. Sumatran coffee stays far less time in the sunshine. Sumatran coffee is hulled with substantially greater water amount, sometimes as much as 20 percent.

To remove the hulls, special wet hulling equipment is needed. The wet hulling equipment also allows the coffee beans to ferment, giving them a distinct flavor that you will not find anywhere.

    • Acidity and flavour

Colombian coffee has a well-balanced flavour and moderate acidity. This coffee has a bit of a bite to it, but it is not overly harsh. Because of its smooth flavour, several coffee connoisseurs consider Colombian coffee to be among the greatest in the world. Sumatran coffee has a much lower acidity level. This makes it one of the greatest coffees for acid sensitivity.

Sumatran coffee has a distinctive flavour. It has earthy undertones that set it apart from the competition. You will detect hints of bell pepper, mushrooms, and even herbs when drinking Sumatran coffee. The way the coffee is processed and the land in which it is grown contribute to this flavour.
