FAQs

Colombian Coffee provides a mild acidity and a robust caramel sweetness, often with a nut undertone, similar to higher-quality Peruvian coffees. They have the most well known coffee flavour in North America, being sweet and medium bodied.

It is possible to make strong Colombian coffee compared to non-Colombian coffee types. The strength of the coffee is influenced by the processing, roasting & brewing process. Therefore, Colombian coffee is only stronger if it is prepared to be strong.  Higher percentage of lower quality beans produce a bitter coffee, but Colombian coffee maintains its taste integrity even when pushed via more rigorous and vigorous brewing methods.

Colombian beans produce a flavour that is smooth, balanced, and light in body. There are also overtones of fruit, almonds, & dark chocolate in the flavour profile.

Colombian coffee beans are among one the finest anywhere. Colombia has a long history of farming Arabica coffee, and their specific topography makes it ideal for producing a tastey, high quality bean. The coffee is renowned worldwide for its flavour & the distinct mild but rich aroma which comes from each brew. That may explain why they have been producing coffee for ~200 years, & it’s been their leading export for most of that time.

Most people regard Costa Rican coffee as the best in Central America. Elevation ratings are given to Costa Rican beans, with the highest rated beans cultivated at the highest altitude. These beans are named “strictly firm beans”.

In a small pot, boil water and panela. Panela is a product that is produced with sugarcane, it is sweet and brown, is sold in blocks or grated and the taste is similar to that of brown sugar. Decrease heat to low and simmer for 30 min, occasionally stirring to melt panela.

In a little French press, put the ground coffee. Pour Aguapanela (Aguapanela or Agua de Panela translates to “panela water”) over coffee until it reaches the brim of the French press.

allow it to stand for 4 minutes, stirring only once. Push down the French press and pour the coffee right away.

Colombian coffee beans are best as a dark roast.  This as a result of the fuller, floral flavour, but light roasts made from Colombian beans are equally flavourful. While keeping the bean’s flavour, cocoa and caramel flavours are brought to the forefront. The tastes and aromas of medium to dark roasts are stronger.

Colombian coffee’s producing conditions & processes make it thought to be the best by many people, especially because of its distinct taste. Farmers of the Arabica beans produce flavourful coffee with great quality at higher altitudes. They are then naturally prepared on little farms by hand. The high elevation produces a nicer flavoured bean. Because of its favourable meteorological conditions, Colombia coffee beans are a rich, somewhat fruity, & chocolaty taste.

The caffeine concentration of Colombian coffee is comparable to that of other coffee types. The caffeine concentration of a dark roast coffee is slightly more than that of a light roast coffee. The difference is small and may go unnoticed. Depending on the sub-variety and degree of roasting, top quality Colombian Arabica coffee contains 30-50 milligrams per single espresso serving & up to 200 mg in an 235ml (~8-ounce) cup.

Colombian coffee beans are among the most renound and popular in the world of coffee. They have a full-bodied flavour which is well-balanced. Guatemalan beans are more praised for their robust and balanced flavours than for their particular taste profile. Guatemala coffee is also very tasty coffee.

    • The hulling process

Colombian coffee beans are dried benith the sun over a few days or until the moisture content gets to around ten%. This helps in the bean’s drying & preps it for hulling. Sumatran coffee spends far less time in the sunshine. Sumatran coffee is hulled with a lot greater water content, at times as high as 20 percent.

To remove the hulls, special wet hulling equipment is needed. The wet hulling equipment also allows the coffee beans to ferment, giving them a distinct flavor that you will not find anywhere.

    • Acidity and flavour

Colombian coffee has a well-balanced flavour and moderate acidity. This coffee has a bit of a bite to it, but it is not overly harsh. Because of its smooth flavour, several coffee connoisseurs consider Colombian coffee to be among the greatest in the world. Sumatran coffee has a much lower acidity level. This makes it one of the greatest coffees for acid sensitivity.

Sumatran coffee has a distinctive flavour. It has earthy undertones that set it apart from the competition. You will detect hints of bell pepper, mushrooms, and even herbs when drinking Sumatran coffee. The way the coffee is processed and the land in which it is grown contribute to this flavour.

The Colombian coffee region, is named the Coffee Triangle. It is a part of the Colombian Paisa region in the regional area of Colombia.
