FAQs

Colombian Coffee exhibits a mild acidity and a robust caramel sweetness, sometimes with a nutty undertone, similar to good quality Peruvian coffee beans. They have the most distinct coffee taste in North America, being sweet & medium bodied.

It is possible to produce strong Colombian coffee compared to other coffee types. The strength of the coffee is influenced by the processing, roasting & brewing methods. Therefore, Colombian coffee is just stronger if it is made to be stronger.  Higher percentage of lower quality beans make a bitter brew, yet Colombian coffee keeps its taste integrity even when pushed via more rigorous & vigorous brewing methods.

Colombian coffee beans produce a flavour that is smooth, balanced, and light in body. There are also overtones of fruit, almonds, & dark chocolate in the taste profile.

Colombian coffee is among one the best in the world. Colombia has a long history of growing Arabica beans, & the country’s specific topography makes it ideal for making a delicious, high quality drink. The coffee is known accross the world for its flavour & the distinct mild but rich aroma which comes from each cup. This may explain why they have been exporting coffee for about 200 years, and it’s been their biggest export for most of that time.

Most people consider Costa Rican coffee as the best in Central America. Elevation classes are assigned to Costa Rican beans, with the best rated beans produced at the highest elevation. These beans are called “strictly high grown”.

In a small saucepan, boil water and panela. Panela is a product that is made with sugarcane, it is sweet and brown, is sold in blocks or grated and the taste is like that of brown sugar. Reduce heat to low & simmer for 30 minutes, stir occationally to melt panela.

In a tiny French press, place the ground coffee beans. Pour Aguapanela (Aguapanela or Agua de Panela translates to “panela water”) over coffee until it gets to the brim of the French press.

Brew for 4 minutes, stirring once during the time. Push down the French press & pour the coffee right away.

Colombian coffee is most suited for a dark roast.  This because of the fuller, floral taste, but light roasts made from Colombian beans are equally delicious. While retaining the bean’s taste, cocoa and caramel flavours are brought to the forefront. The tastes and smells of medium to dark roasts are stronger.

Colombian coffee’s producing conditions & processes make it considered to be the best by many people, particually because of its distinct flavour. Farmers of the Arabica beans produce tasty coffee with excellent quality at high altitudes. They are then naturally prepared on small farms by hand. The higher elevation produces a better tasting bean. Because of its favourable meteorological attributes, Colombian coffee beans are a rich, somewhat fruity, & chocolaty taste.

The caffeine concentration of Colombian coffee is comparable to that of other coffee varieties. The caffeine concentration of a dark roast coffee is a little bit higher than that of a light roast coffee. The difference is minor & may not be noticable. Depending on the sub-variety & degree of roasting, high quality Colombian Arabica coffee has 30-50 milligrams per single espresso serving & up to 200 milligrams in an 235ml (~8-ounce) cup.

Colombian coffee beans are among the most well-known and popular in the world of coffee. They have a full-bodied taste that is well-balanced. Guatemalan beans are more known for their robust & balanced tastes than for their particular flavour profile. Guatemala coffee is also quite good coffee.

    • The hulling proceedure

Colombian coffee beans are dried benith the sun for a few days or until the moisture amount reaches about ten percent. This aids in the bean’s drying and preps it for hulling. Sumatran coffee stays far less time in the sun. Sumatran coffee is hulled with significantly higher moisture content, at times as much as twenty percent.

To remove the hulls, special wet hulling equipment is needed. The wet hulling equipment also allows the coffee beans to ferment, giving them a distinct flavor that you will not find anywhere.

    • Acidity and flavour

Colombian coffee has a well-balanced flavour and moderate acidity. This coffee has a bit of a bite to it, but it is not overly harsh. Because of its smooth flavour, several coffee connoisseurs consider Colombian coffee to be among the greatest in the world. Sumatran coffee has a much lower acidity level. This makes it one of the greatest coffees for acid sensitivity.

Sumatran coffee has a distinctive flavour. It has earthy undertones that set it apart from the competition. You will detect hints of bell pepper, mushrooms, and even herbs when drinking Sumatran coffee. The way the coffee is processed and the land in which it is grown contribute to this flavour.

The Colombian coffee region, is called the Coffee Triangle. It is a part of the Colombian Paisa region in the rural area of Colombia. It is famous for farming the most of Colombian coffee.
