FAQs

Colombian Coffee provides a mild acidity & a robust caramel sweetness, often with a nut undertone, similar to good quality Peruvian beans. Colombian coffee beans have the most identifiable coffee taste in North America, being sweet & medium-bodied.

It is possible to make strong Colombian coffee compared to non-Colombian coffee. The strength of the coffee is determined by the processing, roasting and brewing methods. Therefore, Colombian coffee is just strong if it is prepared to be stronger.  Increased percentage of lower-quality beans make a bitter brew, but Colombian coffee maintains its taste profile even when pushed via more rigorous and vigorous brewing processes.

These beans make a cup that is smooth, balanced, and light in body. There are also overtones of fruit, almonds, and dark chocolate in the taste profile.

Colombian coffee beans are among one the best anywhere. Colombia has a long history of producing Arabica coffee beans, & the country’s specific topography makes it ideal for producing a tastey, top quality drink. The coffee is known worldwide for its flavour and the distinct mild but rich aroma which rises from each cup. That could explain why they have been cultivating coffee for about 200 years, & it’s been their highest export for the majority of that period.

Most people consider Costa Rican coffee as the best in Central America. Elevation ratings are assigned to Costa Rican beans, with the highest rated beans cultivated at the highest altitude. These beans are named “strictly firm beans”.

In a little saucepan, boil water and panela. Panela is a product that is made with sugarcane, it is sweet and brown, is marketed in blocks or grated & the flavour is like that of brown sugar. Decrease heat to low & cook for 30 min, stir occationally to melt panela.

In a tiny French press, put the ground coffee beans. Pour Aguapanela (Aguapanela or Agua de Panela translates to “panela water”) over coffee until it reaches the brim of the French press.

allow it to stand for four min, stirring only once. Push down the French press and pour the coffee right away.

Colombian coffee beans are most suited for a dark roast.  This because of the fuller, floral flavour, however light roasts made from Colombian beans are just as delicious. While retaining the bean’s flavour, cocoa & caramel flavours are brought to the forefront. The tastes and aromas of medium to dark roasts are stronger.

Colombian coffee’s farming conditions & processes make it thought to be the best by a lot of people, particually due to its distinct flavour. Farmers of the Arabica beans produce tasty coffee with excellent quality at higher altitudes. They are then naturally processed on little farms by hand. The high elevation makes for a better tasting bean. Because of its favourable meteorological attributes, Colombia coffee beans are a rich, somewhat fruity, & chocolaty flavour.

The caffeine content of Colombian coffee is similar to that of other coffees. The caffeine concentration of a dark roast coffee is a little bit higher than that of a light roast coffee. The difference is small & may go unnoticed. Depending on the sub-variety & amount of roasting, top quality Colombian Arabica coffee contains 30-50 mg per single espresso serving & up to 200 milligrams in an 235ml (~8-ounce) cup.

Colombian beans are among the most renound and popular in the world of coffee. They have a full-bodied taste which is well-balanced. Guatemalan beans are more known for their robust and balanced flavours than for their particular flavour profile. Guatemala coffee is also very tasty coffee.

    • The hulling process

Colombian coffee beans are dried benith the sun over a few days or until the moisture amount reaches about 10 percent. This helps in the bean’s drying and prepares it for hulling. Sumatran coffee spends a lot less time in the sunshine. Sumatran coffee is hulled with substantially higher moisture amount, sometimes as high as 20%.

To remove the hulls, special wet hulling equipment is needed. The wet hulling equipment also allows the coffee beans to ferment, giving them a distinct flavor that you will not find anywhere.

    • Acidity and flavour

Colombian coffee has a well-balanced flavour and moderate acidity. This coffee has a bit of a bite to it, but it is not overly harsh. Because of its smooth flavour, several coffee connoisseurs consider Colombian coffee to be among the greatest in the world. Sumatran coffee has a much lower acidity level. This makes it one of the greatest coffees for acid sensitivity.

Sumatran coffee has a distinctive flavour. It has earthy undertones that set it apart from the competition. You will detect hints of bell pepper, mushrooms, and even herbs when drinking Sumatran coffee. The way the coffee is processed and the land in which it is grown contribute to this flavour.

The Colombian coffee area, is named the Coffee Triangle. It is a part of the Colombian Paisa region in the rural area of Colombia. It is renound for growing the largest amount of Colombian coffee. There are four departments (that are the same as States & Territories in Australia) in the area that are: Caldas, Quindío, Risaralda & Tolima.
