FAQs

Colombian Coffee exhibits a mild acidity & a robust caramel sweetness, often with a nut undertone, similar to higher-quality Peruvian coffee beans. Colombian coffee beans have the most well known coffee taste in North America, being sweet & medium bodied.

It is possible to make stronger Colombian coffee in comparison to non-Colombian coffee. The strength of the coffee can be altered by the processing, roasting & brewing process. Therefore, Colombian coffee is just strong if it is made to be strong.  Higher proportions of low quality beans make a bitter brew, but Colombian coffee maintains its flavour profile even when pushed via more rigorous & vigorous brewing methods.

Colombian coffee beans make a drink that is smooth, balanced, & light in body. There are also overtones of fruit, almonds, & dark chocolate in the flavour profile.

Colombian coffee beans are among one the finest on the globe. Colombia has a long history of culturing Arabica coffee beans, and the country’s specific topography makes it ideal for making a delicious, high quality coffee bean. The coffee is renowned worldwide for its taste and the distinct mild but rich aroma which comes from each cup. This could explain why they have been cultivating coffee for about 200 years, and it’s been their highest export for the majority of that period.

Most people regard Costa Rican coffee as the best in Central America. Elevation ratings are given to Costa Rican beans, with the highest-rated beans cultivated at the highest altitude. These beans are referred to as “strictly high grown”.

In a small pot, bring water & panela to a boil. Panela is a product that is produced with sugarcane, it is sweet and brown, is marketed in blocks or grated & the flavour is like that of brown sugar. Decrease heat to low & simmer for 30 minutes, stir occationally to melt panela.

In a little French press, place the ground beans. Pour Aguapanela (Aguapanela or Agua de Panela translates to “panela water”) over coffee until it reaches the top of the French press.

Brew for four min, stirring only once. Plunge the French press and pour the coffee right away.

Colombian coffee beans are best as a dark roast.  This as a result of the fuller, floral taste, but light roasts made from Colombian beans are equally delicious. While retaining the bean’s flavour, cocoa & caramel flavours are brought to the forefront. The flavours & smells of medium to dark roasts are stronger.

Colombian coffee’s farming conditions and processes make it considered to be the best by a lot of people, particually due to its distinct taste. Farmers of the Arabica beans produce tasty coffee with great quality at higher altitudes. They are then prepared natually on little farms by hand. The high elevation makes for a better tasting bean. Because of its favourable meteorological conditions, Colombia coffee is a rich, somewhat fruity, and chocolaty flavour.

The caffeine content of Colombian coffee is similar to that of other coffee beans. The caffeine content of a dark roast coffee is a little bit higher than that of a light roast coffee. The difference is small and may not be noticable. Depending on the sub-variety & amount of roasting, high quality Colombian Arabica coffee has 30-50 mg per each espresso serving and up to 200 mg in an 235ml (~8-ounce) cup.

Colombian beans are among the most renound and popular in the world of coffee. They have a full-bodied taste that is well-balanced. Guatemalan beans are more known for their robust and balanced tastes than for their particular taste profile. Guatemala coffee is also very tasty coffee.

    • The hulling process

Colombian coffee beans are dried under the sun over a few days or until the water content reaches about ten percent. This helps in the bean’s drying and preps it for hulling. Sumatran coffee stays far less time in the sunshine. Sumatran coffee is hulled with significantly higher water content, sometimes as much as twenty percent.

To remove the hulls, special wet hulling equipment is needed. The wet hulling equipment also allows the coffee beans to ferment, giving them a distinct flavor that you will not find anywhere.

    • Acidity and flavour

Colombian coffee has a well-balanced flavour and moderate acidity. This coffee has a bit of a bite to it, but it is not overly harsh. Because of its smooth flavour, several coffee connoisseurs consider Colombian coffee to be among the greatest in the world. Sumatran coffee has a much lower acidity level. This makes it one of the greatest coffees for acid sensitivity.

Sumatran coffee has a distinctive flavour. It has earthy undertones that set it apart from the competition. You will detect hints of bell pepper, mushrooms, and even herbs when drinking Sumatran coffee. The way the coffee is processed and the land in which it is grown contribute to this flavour.

The Colombian coffee area, is known as the Coffee Triangle. It is a part of the Colombian Paisa area in the rural area of Colombia. It is renound for farming the biggest amount of Colombian coffee.
