FAQs

Colombian Coffee has a mild acidity & a robust caramel sweetness, sometimes with a nut undertone, similar to higher-quality Peruvian coffee beans. Colombian coffee beans have the most identifiable coffee flavour in North America, being sweet & medium bodied.

It is possible to produce strong Colombian coffee compared to other coffee. The strength of the coffee is determined by the processing, roasting & brewing process. Therefore, Colombian coffee is just stronger if it is made to be strong.  Increased proportions of lower quality beans produce a bitter coffee, yet Colombian coffee maintains its flavour profile even when pushed via more rigorous and vigorous brewing methods.

These beans provide a cup that is smooth, balanced, & light in body. There are also overtones of fruit, almonds, & dark chocolate in the flavour profile.

Colombian coffee beans are among one the finest anywhere. Colombia has a long history of producing Arabica beans, & their specific topography makes it perfect for producing a tastey, high-quality bean. The coffee is known accross the globe for its flavour & the distinct mild but rich aroma that comes from each brew. This may explain why they have been producing coffee for about 200 years, and it’s been their biggest export for the majority of that time.

Many people regard Costa Rican coffee as the top one in Central America. Altitude ratings are assigned to Costa Rican beans, with the highest rated beans farmed at the greatest elevation. These beans are named “strictly firm beans”.

In a small saucepan, bring water and panela to a boil. Panela is a product that is produced from sugarcane, it is sweet and brown, is marketed in blocks or grated & the taste is like that of brown sugar. Reduce heat to low and cook for 30 minutes, stir occationally to melt panela.

In a small French press, place the ground beans. Pour Aguapanela (Aguapanela or Agua de Panela translates to “panela water”) over coffee until it gets to the brim of the French press.

allow it to stand for 4 minutes, stirring only once. Push down the French press and pour the coffee right away.

Colombian coffee is best as a dark roast.  This as a result of the fuller, floral flavour, however light roasts made from Colombian beans are just as tasty. While keeping the bean’s taste, cocoa & caramel flavours are brought to the forefront. The tastes & smells of medium to dark roasts are stronger.

Colombian coffee’s producing conditions & processes make it considered to be the best by a lot of people, especially due to its distinct taste. Farmers of the Arabica beans produce tasty coffee with outstanding quality at higher elevations. They are then prepared natually on small farms by hand. The higher elevation makes for a nicer tasting coffee bean. Because of its favourable climatic conditions, Colombia coffee is a rich, somewhat fruity, & chocolaty flavour.

The caffeine concentration of Colombian coffee is similar to that of other coffee beans. The caffeine content of a dark roast coffee is slightly more than that of a light roast coffee. The difference is minor and may not be noticable. Depending on the sub-variety & degree of roasting, top quality Colombian Arabica coffee contains 30-50 milligrams per single espresso serving & up to 200 mg in an 235ml (~8-ounce) cup.

Colombian beans are among the most well-known & popular in the world of coffee. They have a full-bodied flavour which is well-balanced. Guatemalan beans are more praised for their robust and balanced tastes than for their particular taste profile. Guatemala coffee is also quite tasty coffee.

    • The hulling process

Colombian coffee beans are dried benith the sun over a few days or until the water content gets to about 10 percent. This aids in the bean’s drying & prepares it for hulling. Sumatran coffee stays far less time in the sunshine. Sumatran coffee is hulled with significantly higher water amount, at times as much as 20%.

To remove the hulls, special wet hulling equipment is needed. The wet hulling equipment also allows the coffee beans to ferment, giving them a distinct flavor that you will not find anywhere.

    • Acidity and flavour

Colombian coffee has a well-balanced flavour and moderate acidity. This coffee has a bit of a bite to it, but it is not overly harsh. Because of its smooth flavour, several coffee connoisseurs consider Colombian coffee to be among the greatest in the world. Sumatran coffee has a much lower acidity level. This makes it one of the greatest coffees for acid sensitivity.

Sumatran coffee has a distinctive flavour. It has earthy undertones that set it apart from the competition. You will detect hints of bell pepper, mushrooms, and even herbs when drinking Sumatran coffee. The way the coffee is processed and the land in which it is grown contribute to this flavour.

The Colombian coffee region, is called the Coffee Triangle. It is a part of the Colombian Paisa region in the regional area of Colombia. It is renound for culturing the biggest amount of Colombian coffee.
