FAQs

Colombian Coffee provides a mild acidity and a robust caramel sweetness, occationally with a nutty undertone, similar to higher-quality Peruvian coffees. They have the most distinct coffee flavour in North America, that of sweet & medium bodied.

It is possible to produce stronger Colombian coffee in comparison to other coffee types. The strength of the coffee is influenced by the processing, roasting and brewing process. Therefore, Colombian coffee is only stronger if it is prepared to be stronger.  Higher percentage of low quality beans result in a bitter brew, but Colombian coffee maintains its flavour integrity even when pushed via more rigorous and vigorous brewing processes.

Colombian beans make a flavour that is smooth, balanced, and light in body. There can be also overtones of fruit, almonds, & dark chocolate in the taste profile.

Colombian coffee beans are among one the best on the globe. Colombia has a long history of culturing Arabica beans, & the country’s particular topography makes it perfect for making a tastey, high-quality drink. The coffee is known worldwide for its taste and the destinctive mild but rich aroma which comes from each cup. That may explain why they have been cultivating coffee for ~200 years, & it’s been their leading export for most of that period.

Many people regard Costa Rican coffee as the top one in Central America. Altitude ratings are given to Costa Rican beans, with the best rated beans farmed at the greatest altitude. These beans are known as strictly hard beans”.

In a small saucepan, boil water and panela. Panela is a product that is made with sugarcane, it is sweet & brown, is marketed in blocks or grated & the taste is like that of brown sugar. Reduce heat to low and cook for 30 minutes, occasionally stirring to melt panela.

In a small French press, place the ground beans. Pour Aguapanela (Aguapanela or Agua de Panela translates to “panela water”) over coffee until it gets to the top of the French press.

allow it to stand for four minutes, stirring only once. Push down the French press & pour the coffee straight away.

Colombian coffee beans are best as a dark roast.  This as a result of the fuller, floral flavour, but light roasts made from Colombian beans are equally delicious. While retaining the bean’s flavour, cocoa and caramel flavours are brought to the forefront. The tastes and aromas of medium to dark roasts are stronger.

Colombian coffee’s farming conditions and processes make it considered to be the best by many people, particually due to its distinct flavour. Farmers of the Arabica beans produce flavourful coffee with outstanding quality at higher elevations. They are then naturally processed on little farms by hand. The high elevation makes for a nicer tasting coffee bean. Because of its favourable climatic conditions, Colombian coffee is a rich, somewhat fruity, & chocolaty flavour.

The caffeine concentration of Colombian coffee is comparable to that of other coffee types. The caffeine content of a dark roast coffee is slightly higher than that of a light roast coffee. The difference is minor and may not be noticable. Depending on the sub-variety & degree of roasting, high quality Colombian Arabica coffee contains 30-50 milligrams per each espresso serving & up to 200 milligrams in an 235ml (~8-ounce) cup.

Colombian coffee beans are among the most renound & popular in the world of coffee. They have a full-bodied flavour that is well-balanced. Guatemalan beans are more praised for their robust & balanced tastes than for their particular flavour profile. Guatemala coffee is also very good coffee.

    • The hulling process

Colombian coffee beans are dried benith the sun for a few days or until the water amount reaches around ten%. This helps in the bean’s drying and prepares it for hulling. Sumatran coffee spends a lot less time in the sunshine. Sumatran coffee is hulled with substantially higher moisture amount, sometimes as high as 20%.

To remove the hulls, special wet hulling equipment is needed. The wet hulling equipment also allows the coffee beans to ferment, giving them a distinct flavor that you will not find anywhere.

    • Acidity and flavour

Colombian coffee has a well-balanced flavour and moderate acidity. This coffee has a bit of a bite to it, but it is not overly harsh. Because of its smooth flavour, several coffee connoisseurs consider Colombian coffee to be among the greatest in the world. Sumatran coffee has a much lower acidity level. This makes it one of the greatest coffees for acid sensitivity.

Sumatran coffee has a distinctive flavour. It has earthy undertones that set it apart from the competition. You will detect hints of bell pepper, mushrooms, and even herbs when drinking Sumatran coffee. The way the coffee is processed and the land in which it is grown contribute to this flavour.

The Colombian coffee region, is named the Coffee Triangle. It is a part of the Colombian Paisa region in the regional area of Colombia.
