FAQs

Colombian Coffee has a mild acidity & a robust caramel sweetness, possibly with a nut undertone, similar to higher-quality Peruvian coffees. Colombian coffee beans have the most well known coffee flavour in North America, being sweet & medium bodied.

It is possible to make strong Colombian coffee compared to other coffee. The strength of the coffee can be altered by the processing, roasting and brewing methods. Thus, Colombian coffee is just strong if it is prepared to be stronger.  Increased amounts of lower-quality beans produce a bitter coffee, yet Colombian coffee maintains its flavour profile even when pushed via more rigorous & vigorous brewing methods.

Colombian coffee beans make a flavour that is smooth, balanced, & light in body. There are also overtones of fruit, almonds, and dark chocolate in the flavour profile.

Colombian coffee beans are among one the finest on the globe. Colombia has a long history of growing Arabica coffee, and the country’s specific topography makes it perfect for making a delicious, high quality coffee bean. The coffee is known accross the world for its flavour & the destinctive mild but rich aroma that rises from each brew. That could explain why they have been exporting coffee for ~200 years, & it’s been their highest export for most of that time.

Most people consider Costa Rican coffee as the top one in Central America. Elevation classes are assigned to Costa Rican beans, with the best rated beans produced at the greatest elevation. These beans are referred to as “strictly firm beans”.

In a small saucepan, bring water and panela to a boil. Panela is a product that is made from sugarcane, it is sweet & brown, is sold in blocks or grated & the taste is like that of brown sugar. Decrease heat to low & simmer for 30 minutes, occasionally stirring to melt panela.

In a small French press, place the ground coffee beans. Pour Aguapanela (Aguapanela or Agua de Panela translates to “panela water”) over coffee until it reaches the top of the French press.

Brew for 4 min, stirring only once. Push down the French press and pour the coffee right away.

Colombian coffee is best as a dark roast.  This due to the fuller, floral flavour, but light roasts made from Colombian beans are equally flavourful. While retaining the bean’s flavour, cocoa and caramel flavours are brought to the forefront. The tastes & smells of medium to dark roasts are stronger.

Colombian coffee’s producing conditions & processes make it thought to be the best by a lot of people, particually because of its distinct flavour. Farmers of the Arabica beans produce tasty coffee with outstanding quality at higher elevations. They are then processed natually on small farms by hand. The higher altitude produces a nicer tasting bean. Because of its favourable meteorological conditions, Colombian coffee beans are a rich, somewhat fruity, & chocolaty taste.

The caffeine content of Colombian coffee is similar to that of other coffee beans. The caffeine concentration of a dark roast coffee is slightly higher than that of a light roast coffee. The difference is small & may not be noticable. Depending on the sub-variety and amount of roasting, high-quality Colombian Arabica coffee has 30-50 milligrams per each espresso serving and up to 200 mg in an 235ml (~8-ounce) cup.

Colombian coffee beans are among the most renound & popular in the world of coffee. They have a full-bodied flavour which is well-balanced. Guatemalan beans are more known for their robust & balanced flavours than for their particular taste profile. Guatemala coffee is also very tasty coffee.

    • The hulling proceedure

Colombian coffee beans are dried under the sun over a few days or until the moisture content reaches about ten%. This aids in the bean’s drying and prepares it for hulling. Sumatran coffee spends a lot less time in the sun. Sumatran coffee is hulled with significantly greater moisture content, sometimes as high as 20%.

To remove the hulls, special wet hulling equipment is needed. The wet hulling equipment also allows the coffee beans to ferment, giving them a distinct flavor that you will not find anywhere.

    • Acidity and flavour

Colombian coffee has a well-balanced flavour and moderate acidity. This coffee has a bit of a bite to it, but it is not overly harsh. Because of its smooth flavour, several coffee connoisseurs consider Colombian coffee to be among the greatest in the world. Sumatran coffee has a much lower acidity level. This makes it one of the greatest coffees for acid sensitivity.

Sumatran coffee has a distinctive flavour. It has earthy undertones that set it apart from the competition. You will detect hints of bell pepper, mushrooms, and even herbs when drinking Sumatran coffee. The way the coffee is processed and the land in which it is grown contribute to this flavour.
