FAQs

Colombian Coffee has a mild acidity & a robust caramel sweetness, possibly with a nut undertone, similar to good quality Peruvian coffee beans. Colombian coffee beans have the most identifiable coffee flavour in North America, being sweet and medium-bodied.

It is possible to make stronger Colombian coffee in comparison to non-Colombian coffee types. The strength of the coffee is determined by the processing, roasting and brewing process. Therefore, Colombian coffee is only stronger if it is made to be strong.  Increased amounts of lower-quality beans make a bitter brew, but Colombian coffee maintains its flavour profile even when pushed via more rigorous & vigorous brewing processes.

Colombian beans provide a taste that is smooth, balanced, and light in body. There can be also overtones of fruit, almonds, and dark chocolate in the taste profile.

Colombian coffee is among one the finest on the globe. Colombia has a long history of growing Arabica coffee beans, and the country’s particular topography makes it perfect for producing a delicious, top quality brew. The coffee is known worldwide for its taste and the destinctive mild but rich aroma that comes from each brew. This could explain why they have been cultivating coffee for about 200 years, and it’s been their highest export for most of that period.

Most people consider Costa Rican coffee as the top one in Central America. Altitude classes are given to Costa Rican beans, with the best rated beans farmed at the highest elevation. These beans are called strictly hard beans”.

In a little pot, bring water and panela to a boil. Panela is a product that is made with sugarcane, it is sweet and brown, is marketed in blocks or grated and the flavour is similar to that of brown sugar. Reduce heat to low and simmer for 30 minutes, occasionally stirring to melt panela.

In a little French press, put the ground beans. Pour Aguapanela (Aguapanela or Agua de Panela translates to “panela water”) over coffee until it reaches the top of the French press.

Brew for 4 min, stirring once during the time. Plunge the French press & pour the coffee right away.

Colombian coffee beans are best as a dark roast.  This because of the fuller, floral flavour, however light roasts made from Colombian beans are just as delicious. While keeping the bean’s taste, cocoa and caramel flavours are brought to the forefront. The tastes & smells of medium to dark roasts are stronger.

Colombian coffee’s cultivating conditions and processes make it considered to be the best by many people, particually due to its distinct taste. Farmers of the Arabica beans produce flavourful coffee with outstanding quality at higher altitudes. They are then naturally prepared on small farms by hand. The high elevation produces a nicer flavoured coffee bean. Due to its favourable meteorological conditions, Colombian coffee is a rich, somewhat fruity, & chocolaty taste.

The caffeine content of Colombian coffee is similar to that of other coffee types. The caffeine concentration of a dark roast coffee is slightly more than that of a light roast coffee. The difference is small & may go unnoticed. Depending on the sub-variety & amount of roasting, high quality Colombian Arabica coffee contains 30-50 mg per each espresso serving and up to 200 mg in an 235ml (~8-ounce) cup.

Colombian coffee beans are among the most renound and popular in the world of coffee. They have a full-bodied flavour that is well-balanced. Guatemalan beans are more known for their robust and balanced tastes than for their particular flavour profile. Guatemala coffee is also quite good coffee.

    • The hulling proceedure

Colombian coffee beans are dried under the sun for a few days or until the moisture amount gets to around 10%. This aids in the bean’s drying and preps it for hulling. Sumatran coffee spends a lot less time in the sunshine. Sumatran coffee is hulled with significantly higher moisture content, sometimes as high as 20 percent.

To remove the hulls, special wet hulling equipment is needed. The wet hulling equipment also allows the coffee beans to ferment, giving them a distinct flavor that you will not find anywhere.

    • Acidity and flavour

Colombian coffee has a well-balanced flavour and moderate acidity. This coffee has a bit of a bite to it, but it is not overly harsh. Because of its smooth flavour, several coffee connoisseurs consider Colombian coffee to be among the greatest in the world. Sumatran coffee has a much lower acidity level. This makes it one of the greatest coffees for acid sensitivity.

Sumatran coffee has a distinctive flavour. It has earthy undertones that set it apart from the competition. You will detect hints of bell pepper, mushrooms, and even herbs when drinking Sumatran coffee. The way the coffee is processed and the land in which it is grown contribute to this flavour.
