FAQs

Colombian Coffee exhibits a mild acidity & a robust caramel sweetness, occationally with a nut undertone, similar to good quality Peruvian coffee beans. They have the most well known coffee taste in North America, that of sweet and medium-bodied.

It is possible to produce stronger Colombian coffee in comparison to other coffee types. The strength of the coffee is determined by the processing, roasting and brewing process. Thus, Colombian coffee is only strong if it is prepared to be stronger.  Higher amounts of lower quality beans make a bitter coffee, but Colombian coffee maintains its flavour integrity even when pushed via more rigorous & vigorous brewing methods.

Colombian beans provide a taste that is smooth, balanced, & light in body. There are also overtones of fruit, almonds, & dark chocolate in the taste profile.

Colombian coffee is among one the best in the world. Colombia has a long history of growing Arabica beans, and their specific topography makes it ideal for making a tastey, high quality bean. The coffee is known worldwide for its flavour & the distinct mild but rich aroma which rises from each brew. That may explain why they have been exporting coffee for ~200 years, & it’s been their biggest export for most of that period.

Many people consider Costa Rican coffee as the best in Central America. Elevation classes are assigned to Costa Rican beans, with the best rated beans grown at the greatest altitude. These beans are referred to as strictly hard beans”.

In a little pot, bring water and panela to a boil. Panela is a product that is made from sugarcane, it is sweet and brown, is sold in blocks or grated & the taste is like that of brown sugar. Decrease heat to low & simmer for 30 min, occasionally stirring to melt panela.

In a tiny French press, put the ground beans. Pour Aguapanela (Aguapanela or Agua de Panela translates to “panela water”) over coffee until it reaches the brim of the French press.

Brew for four min, stirring once during the time. Plunge the French press & pour the coffee right away.

Colombian coffee beans are most suited for a dark roast.  This because of the fuller, floral taste, but light roasts made from Colombian beans are just as delicious. While keeping the bean’s taste, cocoa & caramel flavours are brought to the forefront. The flavours & aromas of medium to dark roasts are stronger.

Colombian coffee’s producing conditions & processes make it thought to be the best by a lot of people, particually due to its distinct taste. Farmers of the Arabica beans produce flavourful coffee with excellent quality at higher elevations. They are then prepared natually on small farms by hand. The high altitude produces a better tasting coffee bean. Due to its favourable meteorological characteristics, Colombian coffee beans are a rich, somewhat fruity, & chocolaty flavour.

The caffeine concentration of Colombian coffee is similar to that of other coffee beans. The caffeine content of a dark roast coffee is slightly more than that of a light roast coffee. The difference is minor & may go unnoticed. Depending on the sub-variety and amount of roasting, high-quality Colombian Arabica coffee has 30-50 mg per single espresso serving and up to 200 mg in an 235ml (~8-ounce) cup.

Colombian beans are among the most renound and popular in the world of coffee. They have a full-bodied taste that is well-balanced. Guatemalan beans are more known for their robust and balanced tastes than for their particular taste profile. Guatemala coffee is also quite tasty coffee.

    • The hulling process

Colombian coffee beans are dried benith the sun for a few days or until the moisture content gets to around ten percent. This helps in the bean’s drying and prepares it for hulling. Sumatran coffee stays a lot less time in the sunshine. Sumatran coffee is hulled with a lot greater moisture amount, sometimes as high as 20 percent.

To remove the hulls, special wet hulling equipment is needed. The wet hulling equipment also allows the coffee beans to ferment, giving them a distinct flavor that you will not find anywhere.

    • Acidity and flavour

Colombian coffee has a well-balanced flavour and moderate acidity. This coffee has a bit of a bite to it, but it is not overly harsh. Because of its smooth flavour, several coffee connoisseurs consider Colombian coffee to be among the greatest in the world. Sumatran coffee has a much lower acidity level. This makes it one of the greatest coffees for acid sensitivity.

Sumatran coffee has a distinctive flavour. It has earthy undertones that set it apart from the competition. You will detect hints of bell pepper, mushrooms, and even herbs when drinking Sumatran coffee. The way the coffee is processed and the land in which it is grown contribute to this flavour.
