FAQs

Colombian Coffee exhibits a mild acidity & a robust caramel sweetness, possibly with a nut undertone, similar to higher-quality Peruvian beans. They have the most distinct coffee taste in North America, that of sweet and medium bodied.

It is possible to make strong Colombian coffee compared to other coffee. The strength of the coffee is influenced by the processing, roasting & brewing process. Thus, Colombian coffee is only strong if it is made to be stronger.  Higher proportions of low quality beans produce a bitter coffee, but Colombian coffee keeps its taste integrity even when pushed via more rigorous & vigorous brewing processes.

These beans produce a cup that is smooth, balanced, & light in body. There are also overtones of fruit, almonds, & dark chocolate in the flavour profile.

Colombian coffee is among one the best in the world. Colombia has a long history of cultivating Arabica coffee, & the country’s particular topography makes it ideal for producing a tastey, high-quality bean. The coffee is known accross the world for its taste and the distinct mild but rich aroma that rises from each cup. This could explain why they have been producing coffee for about 200 years, and it’s been their leading export for most of that time.

Most people consider Costa Rican coffee as the top one in Central America. Elevation ratings are given to Costa Rican beans, with the highest-rated beans farmed at the highest altitude. These beans are called “strictly high grown”.

In a small pot, boil water and panela. Panela is a product that is made with sugarcane, it is sweet & brown, is marketed in blocks or grated & the taste is similar to that of brown sugar. Reduce heat to low and simmer for 30 min, stir occationally to melt panela.

In a small French press, put the ground coffee beans. Pour Aguapanela (Aguapanela or Agua de Panela translates to “panela water”) over coffee until it gets to the top of the French press.

Brew for 4 min, stirring only once. Plunge the French press and pour the coffee right away.

Colombian coffee is best as a dark roast.  This as a result of the fuller, floral flavour, but light roasts made from Colombian beans are just as tasty. While keeping the bean’s flavour, cocoa and caramel flavours are brought to the forefront. The tastes and aromas of medium to dark roasts are stronger.

Colombian coffee’s growing conditions & processes make it considered to be the best by many people, especially because of its distinct flavour. Farmers of the Arabica beans produce tasty coffee with excellent quality at higher elevations. They are then naturally processed on small farms by hand. The high altitude produces a nicer tasting bean. Due to its favourable meteorological conditions, Colombia coffee is a rich, somewhat fruity, & chocolaty flavour.

The caffeine concentration of Colombian coffee is comparable to that of other coffee beans. The caffeine content of a dark roast coffee is a little bit greater than that of a light roast coffee. The difference is minor and may not be noticable. Depending on the sub-variety & degree of roasting, high quality Colombian Arabica coffee contains 30-50 mg per each espresso serving & up to 200 mg in an 235ml (~8-ounce) cup.

Colombian coffee beans are among the most renound and popular in the world of coffee. They have a full-bodied taste that is well-balanced. Guatemalan beans are more known for their robust & balanced flavours than for their particular taste profile. Guatemala coffee is also very good coffee.

    • The hulling proceedure

Colombian coffee beans are dried under the sun for a few days or until the moisture content gets to about 10 percent. This helps in the bean’s drying & prepares it for hulling. Sumatran coffee stays far less time in the sunshine. Sumatran coffee is hulled with substantially greater water content, at times as much as 20%.

To remove the hulls, special wet hulling equipment is needed. The wet hulling equipment also allows the coffee beans to ferment, giving them a distinct flavor that you will not find anywhere.

    • Acidity and flavour

Colombian coffee has a well-balanced flavour and moderate acidity. This coffee has a bit of a bite to it, but it is not overly harsh. Because of its smooth flavour, several coffee connoisseurs consider Colombian coffee to be among the greatest in the world. Sumatran coffee has a much lower acidity level. This makes it one of the greatest coffees for acid sensitivity.

Sumatran coffee has a distinctive flavour. It has earthy undertones that set it apart from the competition. You will detect hints of bell pepper, mushrooms, and even herbs when drinking Sumatran coffee. The way the coffee is processed and the land in which it is grown contribute to this flavour.
