FAQs

Colombian Coffee exhibits a mild acidity & a robust caramel sweetness, possibly with a nut undertone, similar to high quality Peruvian coffees. They have the most well known coffee taste in North America, being sweet & medium-bodied.

It is possible to make strong Colombian coffee in comparison to non-Colombian coffee. The strength of the coffee will depend on the processing, roasting and brewing methods. Therefore, Colombian coffee is only strong if it is made to be strong.  Increased proportions of lower-quality beans produce a bitter brew, yet Colombian coffee keeps its flavour profile even when pushed via more rigorous & vigorous brewing methods.

Colombian beans produce a cup that is smooth, balanced, and light in body. There are also overtones of fruit, almonds, and dark chocolate in the taste profile.

Colombian coffee is among one the best anywhere. Colombia has a long history of producing Arabica beans, & the country’s particular topography makes it ideal for producing a tastey, top quality coffee bean. The coffee is renowned worldwide for its taste & the distinct mild but rich aroma that comes from each cup. This could explain why they have been growing coffee for about 200 years, and it’s been their biggest export for most of that time.

Most people regard Costa Rican coffee as the top one in Central America. Altitude classes are assigned to Costa Rican beans, with the highest rated beans cultivated at the highest elevation. These beans are referred to as “strictly firm beans”.

In a small saucepan, bring water and panela to a boil. Panela is a product that is made from sugarcane, it is sweet & brown, is sold in blocks or grated and the flavour is like that of brown sugar. Reduce heat to low & simmer for 30 min, occasionally stirring to melt panela.

In a small French press, put the ground coffee. Pour Aguapanela (Aguapanela or Agua de Panela translates to “panela water”) over coffee until it reaches the top of the French press.

Brew for four min, stirring once during the time. Push down the French press and pour the coffee straight away.

Colombian coffee beans are most suited for a dark roast.  This because of the fuller, floral flavour, however light roasts made from Colombian beans are equally tasty. While keeping the bean’s flavour, cocoa & caramel flavours are brought to the forefront. The flavours & aromas of medium to dark roasts are stronger.

Colombian coffee’s producing conditions & processes make it thought to be the best by many people, particually due to its distinct taste. Farmers of the Arabica beans produce flavourful coffee with outstanding quality at high altitudes. They are then prepared natually on small farms by hand. The higher elevation produces a nicer flavoured coffee bean. Due to its favourable meteorological conditions, Colombia coffee beans are a rich, somewhat fruity, and chocolaty taste.

The caffeine content of Colombian coffee is similar to that of other coffee types. The caffeine content of a dark roast coffee is a little bit greater than that of a light roast coffee. The difference is minor and may not be noticable. Depending on the sub-variety and degree of roasting, top quality Colombian Arabica coffee contains 30-50 milligrams per each espresso serving & up to 200 mg in an 235ml (~8-ounce) cup.

Colombian coffee beans are among the most renound and popular in the world of coffee. They have a full-bodied flavour that is well-balanced. Guatemalan beans are more praised for their robust & balanced tastes than for their particular taste profile. Guatemala coffee is also very good coffee.

    • The hulling process

Colombian coffee beans are dried benith the sun over a few days or until the moisture content reaches about ten percent. This aids in the bean’s drying & prepares it for hulling. Sumatran coffee stays a lot less time in the sun. Sumatran coffee is hulled with a lot higher water amount, sometimes as high as twenty percent.

To remove the hulls, special wet hulling equipment is needed. The wet hulling equipment also allows the coffee beans to ferment, giving them a distinct flavor that you will not find anywhere.

    • Acidity and flavour

Colombian coffee has a well-balanced flavour and moderate acidity. This coffee has a bit of a bite to it, but it is not overly harsh. Because of its smooth flavour, several coffee connoisseurs consider Colombian coffee to be among the greatest in the world. Sumatran coffee has a much lower acidity level. This makes it one of the greatest coffees for acid sensitivity.

Sumatran coffee has a distinctive flavour. It has earthy undertones that set it apart from the competition. You will detect hints of bell pepper, mushrooms, and even herbs when drinking Sumatran coffee. The way the coffee is processed and the land in which it is grown contribute to this flavour.
