FAQs

Colombian Coffee provides a mild acidity & a robust caramel sweetness, often with a nutty undertone, similar to high quality Peruvian coffee beans. Colombian coffee beans have the most distinct coffee taste in North America, that of sweet & medium-bodied.

It is possible to make strong Colombian coffee in comparison to other coffee types. The strength of the coffee is influenced by the processing, roasting and brewing process. Therefore, Colombian coffee is only strong if it is prepared to be stronger.  Higher proportions of low quality beans produce a bitter brew, yet Colombian coffee maintains its taste profile even when pushed via more rigorous and vigorous brewing processes.

These beans produce a drink that is smooth, balanced, & light in body. There are also overtones of fruit, almonds, & dark chocolate in the taste profile.

Colombian coffee is among one the finest anywhere. Colombia has a long history of farming Arabica beans, & their specific topography makes it perfect for producing a tastey, high-quality beverage. The coffee is known accross the globe for its taste & the distinct mild but rich aroma that comes from each cup. That may explain why they have been cultivating coffee for ~200 years, and it’s been their biggest export for the majority of that time.

Most people regard Costa Rican coffee as the top one in Central America. Altitude classes are assigned to Costa Rican beans, with the best rated beans produced at the highest elevation. These beans are referred to as “strictly high grown”.

In a small pot, bring water & panela to a boil. Panela is a product that is produced from sugarcane, it is sweet & brown, is marketed in blocks or grated & the flavour is like that of brown sugar. Reduce heat to low and cook for 30 minutes, occasionally stirring to melt panela.

In a little French press, place the ground coffee beans. Pour Aguapanela (Aguapanela or Agua de Panela translates to “panela water”) over coffee until it reaches the top of the French press.

Brew for four min, stirring only once. Plunge the French press & pour the coffee right away.

Colombian coffee is best as a dark roast.  This as a result of the fuller, floral taste, however light roasts made from Colombian beans are equally tasty. While keeping the bean’s flavour, cocoa and caramel flavours are brought to the forefront. The flavours and aromas of medium to dark roasts are stronger.

Colombian coffee’s farming conditions & processes make it considered to be the best by many people, especially due to its distinct flavour. Farmers of the Arabica beans produce flavourful coffee with excellent quality at higher elevations. They are then naturally processed on little farms by hand. The higher altitude produces a better tasting coffee bean. Due to its favourable meteorological conditions, Colombian coffee is a rich, somewhat fruity, & chocolaty flavour.

The caffeine content of Colombian coffee is similar to that of other coffees. The caffeine concentration of a dark roast coffee is a little bit greater than that of a light roast coffee. The difference is minor and may not be noticable. Depending on the sub-variety and degree of roasting, top quality Colombian Arabica coffee contains 30-50 milligrams per single espresso serving and up to 200 milligrams in an 235ml (~8-ounce) cup.

Colombian beans are among the most renound & popular in the world of coffee. They have a full-bodied flavour that is well-balanced. Guatemalan beans are more known for their robust & balanced flavours than for their particular taste profile. Guatemala coffee is also very good coffee.

    • The hulling process

Colombian coffee beans are dried benith the sun over a few days or until the moisture amount reaches around ten%. This aids in the bean’s drying & preps it for hulling. Sumatran coffee spends far less time in the sunshine. Sumatran coffee is hulled with a lot greater water content, sometimes as much as twenty percent.

To remove the hulls, special wet hulling equipment is needed. The wet hulling equipment also allows the coffee beans to ferment, giving them a distinct flavor that you will not find anywhere.

    • Acidity and flavour

Colombian coffee has a well-balanced flavour and moderate acidity. This coffee has a bit of a bite to it, but it is not overly harsh. Because of its smooth flavour, several coffee connoisseurs consider Colombian coffee to be among the greatest in the world. Sumatran coffee has a much lower acidity level. This makes it one of the greatest coffees for acid sensitivity.

Sumatran coffee has a distinctive flavour. It has earthy undertones that set it apart from the competition. You will detect hints of bell pepper, mushrooms, and even herbs when drinking Sumatran coffee. The way the coffee is processed and the land in which it is grown contribute to this flavour.

The Colombian coffee region, is called the Coffee Triangle. It is a part of the Colombian Paisa area in the rural area of Colombia. It is famous for growing the largest amount of Colombian coffee.
