FAQs

Colombian Coffee exhibits a mild acidity and a robust caramel sweetness, often with a nut undertone, similar to higher-quality Peruvian beans. Colombian coffee beans have the most identifiable coffee taste in North America, that of sweet and medium bodied.

It is possible to make stronger Colombian coffee in comparison to other coffee types. The strength of the coffee can be altered by the processing, roasting and brewing methods. Thus, Colombian coffee is just strong if it is prepared to be strong.  Increased percentage of lower quality beans make a bitter brew, but Colombian coffee keeps its flavour integrity even when pushed via more rigorous and vigorous brewing methods.

Colombian coffee beans make a cup that is smooth, balanced, & light in body. There are also overtones of fruit, almonds, & dark chocolate in the flavour profile.

Colombian coffee beans are among one the finest on the globe. Colombia has a long history of growing Arabica coffee beans, and the country’s particular topography makes it perfect for making a delicious, top quality bean. The coffee is renowned accross the globe for its flavour & the destinctive mild but rich aroma that comes from each brew. That could explain why they have been exporting coffee for about 200 years, & it’s been their highest export for most of that time.

Many people regard Costa Rican coffee as the top one in Central America. Altitude ratings are assigned to Costa Rican beans, with the best rated beans cultivated at the greatest elevation. These beans are known as “strictly firm beans”.

In a little saucepan, bring water & panela to a boil. Panela is a product that is made from sugarcane, it is sweet & brown, is marketed in blocks or grated and the taste is like that of brown sugar. Decrease heat to low and simmer for 30 minutes, stir occationally to melt panela.

In a tiny French press, place the ground coffee. Pour Aguapanela (Aguapanela or Agua de Panela translates to “panela water”) over coffee until it gets to the brim of the French press.

Brew for 4 minutes, stirring once during the time. Plunge the French press & pour the coffee right away.

Colombian coffee beans are most suited for a dark roast.  This due to the fuller, floral taste, however light roasts made from Colombian beans are equally flavourful. While retaining the bean’s taste, cocoa & caramel flavours are brought to the forefront. The tastes and aromas of medium to dark roasts are stronger.

Colombian coffee’s growing conditions and processes make it thought to be the best by many people, especially due to its distinct flavour. Farmers of the Arabica beans produce flavourful coffee with great quality at higher altitudes. They are then naturally prepared on small farms by hand. The higher elevation produces a nicer tasting coffee bean. Due to its favourable meteorological attributes, Colombia coffee is a rich, somewhat fruity, and chocolaty taste.

The caffeine content of Colombian coffee is comparable to that of other coffee varieties. The caffeine concentration of a dark roast coffee is a little bit higher than that of a light roast coffee. The difference is minor and may not be noticable. Depending on the sub-variety and amount of roasting, high quality Colombian Arabica coffee contains 30-50 milligrams per each espresso serving & up to 200 mg in an 235ml (~8-ounce) cup.

Colombian beans are among the most well-known & popular in the world of coffee. They have a full-bodied taste that is well-balanced. Guatemalan beans are more known for their robust & balanced tastes than for their particular taste profile. Guatemala coffee is also quite tasty coffee.

    • The hulling proceedure

Colombian coffee beans are dried under the sun for a few days or until the water content gets to around 10%. This aids in the bean’s drying & preps it for hulling. Sumatran coffee stays a lot less time in the sunshine. Sumatran coffee is hulled with a lot greater moisture content, sometimes as high as 20%.

To remove the hulls, special wet hulling equipment is needed. The wet hulling equipment also allows the coffee beans to ferment, giving them a distinct flavor that you will not find anywhere.

    • Acidity and flavour

Colombian coffee has a well-balanced flavour and moderate acidity. This coffee has a bit of a bite to it, but it is not overly harsh. Because of its smooth flavour, several coffee connoisseurs consider Colombian coffee to be among the greatest in the world. Sumatran coffee has a much lower acidity level. This makes it one of the greatest coffees for acid sensitivity.

Sumatran coffee has a distinctive flavour. It has earthy undertones that set it apart from the competition. You will detect hints of bell pepper, mushrooms, and even herbs when drinking Sumatran coffee. The way the coffee is processed and the land in which it is grown contribute to this flavour.
