Colombian Coffee provides a mild acidity and a robust caramel sweetness, sometimes with a nutty undertone, similar to higher-quality Peruvian coffee. They have the most well known coffee taste in North America, that of sweet & medium-bodied.

It is possible to make strong Colombian coffee compared to non-Colombian coffee types. The strength of the coffee is determined by the processing, roasting & brewing process. Therefore, Colombian coffee is just stronger if it is prepared to be stronger.  Higher proportions of low quality beans produce a bitter coffee, but Colombian coffee keeps its taste profile even when pushed via more rigorous & vigorous brewing methods.

Colombian coffee beans produce a taste that is smooth, balanced, and light in body. There can be also overtones of fruit, almonds, and dark chocolate in the flavour profile.

Colombian coffee beans are among one the finest in the world. Colombia has a long history of growing Arabica coffee beans, & the country’s particular topography makes it ideal for making a delicious, high-quality bean. The coffee is known accross the globe for its flavour and the destinctive mild but rich aroma that comes from each cup. This may explain why they have been cultivating coffee for ~200 years, & it’s been their biggest export for the majority of that time.

Many people consider Costa Rican coffee as the top one in Central America. Altitude classes are given to Costa Rican beans, with the best rated beans produced at the greatest elevation. These beans are named strictly hard beans”.

In a small pot, bring water & panela to a boil. Panela is a product that is made with sugarcane, it is sweet and brown, is marketed in blocks or grated & the taste is like that of brown sugar. Decrease heat to low & cook for 30 minutes, occasionally stirring to melt panela.

In a little French press, put the ground coffee. Pour Aguapanela (Aguapanela or Agua de Panela translates to “panela water”) over coffee until it gets to the top of the French press.

Brew for four minutes, stirring only once. Push down the French press and pour the coffee straight away.

Colombian coffee beans are most suited for a dark roast.  This as a result of the fuller, floral taste, but light roasts made from Colombian beans are just as tasty. While retaining the bean’s flavour, cocoa and caramel flavours are brought to the forefront. The flavours and smells of medium to dark roasts are stronger.

Colombian coffee’s cultivating conditions & processes make it thought to be the best by a lot of people, especially due to its distinct taste. Farmers of the Arabica beans produce tasty coffee with great quality at high altitudes. They are then processed natually on small farms by hand. The higher altitude makes for a nicer flavoured bean. Due to its favourable meteorological conditions, Colombia coffee beans are a rich, somewhat fruity, & chocolaty flavour.

The caffeine concentration of Colombian coffee is comparable to that of other coffee varieties. The caffeine content of a dark roast coffee is a little bit higher than that of a light roast coffee. The difference is minor and may go unnoticed. Depending on the sub-variety & amount of roasting, high quality Colombian Arabica coffee contains 30-50 mg per single espresso serving & up to 200 mg in an 235ml (~8-ounce) cup.

Colombian beans are among the most renound & popular in the world of coffee. They have a full-bodied taste which is well-balanced. Guatemalan beans are more known for their robust & balanced flavours than for their particular flavour profile. Guatemala coffee is also very good coffee.

    • The hulling process

Colombian coffee beans are dried under the sun for a few days or until the moisture amount reaches around 10%. This aids in the bean’s drying and preps it for hulling. Sumatran coffee stays far less time in the sun. Sumatran coffee is hulled with a lot higher water amount, at times as much as 20 percent.

To remove the hulls, special wet hulling equipment is needed. The wet hulling equipment also allows the coffee beans to ferment, giving them a distinct flavor that you will not find anywhere.

    • Acidity and flavour

Colombian coffee has a well-balanced flavour and moderate acidity. This coffee has a bit of a bite to it, but it is not overly harsh. Because of its smooth flavour, several coffee connoisseurs consider Colombian coffee to be among the greatest in the world. Sumatran coffee has a much lower acidity level. This makes it one of the greatest coffees for acid sensitivity.

Sumatran coffee has a distinctive flavour. It has earthy undertones that set it apart from the competition. You will detect hints of bell pepper, mushrooms, and even herbs when drinking Sumatran coffee. The way the coffee is processed and the land in which it is grown contribute to this flavour.
