FAQs

Colombian Coffee exhibits a mild acidity & a robust caramel sweetness, sometimes with a nut undertone, similar to good quality Peruvian coffee beans. Colombian coffee beans have the most well known coffee taste in North America, being sweet & medium-bodied.

It is possible to make strong Colombian coffee compared to non-Colombian coffee. The strength of the coffee can be altered by the processing, roasting and brewing methods. Thus, Colombian coffee is only stronger if it is made to be stronger.  Higher proportions of lower-quality beans produce a bitter brew, but Colombian coffee maintains its taste profile even when pushed via more rigorous and vigorous brewing processes.

These beans produce a flavour that is smooth, balanced, & light in body. There can be also overtones of fruit, almonds, and dark chocolate in the taste profile.

Colombian coffee is among one the best anywhere. Colombia has a long history of producing Arabica coffee beans, and the country’s particular topography makes it ideal for making a tastey, high-quality drink. The coffee is renowned accross the globe for its taste & the destinctive mild but rich aroma which comes from each brew. That may explain why they have been producing coffee for about 200 years, and it’s been their biggest export for most of that period.

Most people consider Costa Rican coffee as the best in Central America. Altitude classes are given to Costa Rican beans, with the highest rated beans cultivated at the highest elevation. These beans are known as “strictly firm beans”.

In a little pot, boil water and panela. Panela is a product that is made with sugarcane, it is sweet & brown, is sold in blocks or grated & the taste is similar to that of brown sugar. Decrease heat to low & simmer for 30 minutes, stir occationally to melt panela.

In a small French press, put the ground beans. Pour Aguapanela (Aguapanela or Agua de Panela translates to “panela water”) over coffee until it reaches the top of the French press.

Brew for 4 min, stirring once during the time. Plunge the French press & pour the coffee straight away.

Colombian coffee beans are most suited for a dark roast.  This because of the fuller, floral flavour, however light roasts made from Colombian beans are just as delicious. While keeping the bean’s taste, cocoa & caramel flavours are brought to the forefront. The flavours & smells of medium to dark roasts are stronger.

Colombian coffee’s cultivating conditions & processes make it considered to be the best by many people, particually because of its distinct taste. Farmers of the Arabica beans produce tasty coffee with outstanding quality at higher altitudes. They are then naturally processed on small farms by hand. The high elevation makes for a better tasting coffee bean. Because of its favourable climatic conditions, Colombian coffee is a rich, somewhat fruity, and chocolaty flavour.

The caffeine concentration of Colombian coffee is similar to that of other coffee varieties. The caffeine content of a dark roast coffee is a little bit higher than that of a light roast coffee. The difference is small and may not be noticable. Depending on the sub-variety & degree of roasting, high quality Colombian Arabica coffee has 30-50 mg per each espresso serving & up to 200 mg in an 235ml (~8-ounce) cup.

Colombian beans are among the most well-known & popular in the world of coffee. They have a full-bodied flavour that is well-balanced. Guatemalan beans are more known for their robust and balanced flavours than for their particular flavour profile. Guatemala coffee is also quite good coffee.

    • The hulling process

Colombian coffee beans are dried benith the sun for a few days or until the moisture amount gets to around 10 percent. This helps in the bean’s drying and prepares it for hulling. Sumatran coffee stays a lot less time in the sun. Sumatran coffee is hulled with a lot greater water content, sometimes as much as 20%.

To remove the hulls, special wet hulling equipment is needed. The wet hulling equipment also allows the coffee beans to ferment, giving them a distinct flavor that you will not find anywhere.

    • Acidity and flavour

Colombian coffee has a well-balanced flavour and moderate acidity. This coffee has a bit of a bite to it, but it is not overly harsh. Because of its smooth flavour, several coffee connoisseurs consider Colombian coffee to be among the greatest in the world. Sumatran coffee has a much lower acidity level. This makes it one of the greatest coffees for acid sensitivity.

Sumatran coffee has a distinctive flavour. It has earthy undertones that set it apart from the competition. You will detect hints of bell pepper, mushrooms, and even herbs when drinking Sumatran coffee. The way the coffee is processed and the land in which it is grown contribute to this flavour.

The Colombian coffee region, is named the Coffee Triangle. It is a part of the Colombian Paisa region in the regional area of Colombia. It is renound for growing the majority of Colombian coffee.
