FAQs

Colombian Coffee provides a mild acidity and a robust caramel sweetness, occationally with a nutty undertone, similar to high quality Peruvian coffees. They have the most distinct coffee taste in North America, being sweet & medium-bodied.

It is possible to produce stronger Colombian coffee compared to non-Colombian coffee. The strength of the coffee is determined by the processing, roasting & brewing methods. Thus, Colombian coffee is just stronger if it is prepared to be strong.  Increased amounts of lower-quality beans produce a bitter brew, but Colombian coffee keeps its flavour integrity even when pushed via more rigorous and vigorous brewing processes.

Colombian beans produce a taste that is smooth, balanced, and light in body. There are also overtones of fruit, almonds, and dark chocolate in the taste profile.

Colombian coffee is among one the best anywhere. Colombia has a long history of growing Arabica coffee beans, and the country’s particular topography makes it ideal for making a delicious, top quality drink. The coffee is renowned worldwide for its taste & the destinctive mild but rich aroma that comes from each brew. That may explain why they have been exporting coffee for ~200 years, and it’s been their biggest export for most of that period.

Many people regard Costa Rican coffee as the top one in Central America. Elevation ratings are given to Costa Rican beans, with the highest rated beans cultivated at the highest elevation. These beans are referred to as “strictly firm beans”.

In a small saucepan, bring water & panela to a boil. Panela is a product that is produced with sugarcane, it is sweet and brown, is marketed in blocks or grated and the flavour is like that of brown sugar. Reduce heat to low and cook for 30 minutes, occasionally stirring to melt panela.

In a small French press, put the ground beans. Pour Aguapanela (Aguapanela or Agua de Panela translates to “panela water”) over coffee until it gets to the brim of the French press.

allow it to stand for 4 minutes, stirring only once. Plunge the French press and pour the coffee right away.

Colombian coffee is most suited for a dark roast.  This as a result of the fuller, floral taste, however light roasts made from Colombian beans are equally delicious. While retaining the bean’s flavour, cocoa and caramel flavours are brought to the forefront. The tastes & smells of medium to dark roasts are stronger.

Colombian coffee’s producing conditions and processes make it thought to be the best by a lot of people, particually due to its distinct taste. Farmers of the Arabica beans produce flavourful coffee with great quality at higher elevations. They are then naturally processed on small farms by hand. The higher altitude produces a better flavoured coffee bean. Due to its favourable climatic attributes, Colombian coffee beans are a rich, somewhat fruity, and chocolaty taste.

The caffeine concentration of Colombian coffee is similar to that of other coffee beans. The caffeine concentration of a dark roast coffee is slightly greater than that of a light roast coffee. The difference is small & may not be noticable. Depending on the sub-variety and degree of roasting, high-quality Colombian Arabica coffee has 30-50 mg per single espresso serving & up to 200 mg in an 235ml (~8-ounce) cup.

Colombian coffee beans are among the most renound and popular in the world of coffee. They have a full-bodied flavour which is well-balanced. Guatemalan beans are more praised for their robust and balanced flavours than for their particular flavour profile. Guatemala coffee is also quite tasty coffee.

    • The hulling process

Colombian coffee beans are dried under the sun over a few days or until the moisture amount reaches around ten percent. This helps in the bean’s drying and preps it for hulling. Sumatran coffee spends far less time in the sun. Sumatran coffee is hulled with substantially greater water content, sometimes as much as 20 percent.

To remove the hulls, special wet hulling equipment is needed. The wet hulling equipment also allows the coffee beans to ferment, giving them a distinct flavor that you will not find anywhere.

    • Acidity and flavour

Colombian coffee has a well-balanced flavour and moderate acidity. This coffee has a bit of a bite to it, but it is not overly harsh. Because of its smooth flavour, several coffee connoisseurs consider Colombian coffee to be among the greatest in the world. Sumatran coffee has a much lower acidity level. This makes it one of the greatest coffees for acid sensitivity.

Sumatran coffee has a distinctive flavour. It has earthy undertones that set it apart from the competition. You will detect hints of bell pepper, mushrooms, and even herbs when drinking Sumatran coffee. The way the coffee is processed and the land in which it is grown contribute to this flavour.

The Colombian coffee area, is called the Coffee Triangle. It is a part of the Colombian Paisa area in the rural area of Colombia. It is famous for producing the largest amount of Colombian coffee. There are four departments (which are the same as States and Territories in Australia) in the area that are: Caldas, Quindío, Risaralda & Tolima.
