FAQs

Colombian Coffee has a mild acidity and a robust caramel sweetness, often with a nutty undertone, similar to higher-quality Peruvian coffee beans. Colombian coffee beans have the most identifiable coffee flavour in North America, that of sweet and medium-bodied.

It is possible to produce stronger Colombian coffee compared to other coffee types. The strength of the coffee will depend on the processing, roasting and brewing process. Thus, Colombian coffee is only stronger if it is prepared to be strong.  Increased percentage of low quality beans result in a bitter coffee, yet Colombian coffee keeps its flavour integrity even when pushed via more rigorous & vigorous brewing processes.

These coffee beans provide a drink that is smooth, balanced, & light in body. There are also overtones of fruit, almonds, and dark chocolate in the flavour profile.

Colombian coffee beans are among one the finest on the globe. Colombia has a long history of culturing Arabica coffee, & the country’s specific topography makes it perfect for producing a delicious, high-quality coffee bean. The coffee is renowned accross the globe for its flavour and the distinct mild but rich aroma that comes from each brew. That could explain why they have been exporting coffee for ~200 years, and it’s been their highest export for the majority of that time.

Many people regard Costa Rican coffee as the top one in Central America. Altitude ratings are assigned to Costa Rican beans, with the highest rated beans cultivated at the highest altitude. These beans are named strictly hard beans”.

In a small pot, boil water and panela. Panela is a product that is produced with sugarcane, it is sweet & brown, is marketed in blocks or grated and the taste is similar to that of brown sugar. Decrease heat to low & simmer for 30 minutes, stir occationally to melt panela.

In a little French press, place the ground coffee. Pour Aguapanela (Aguapanela or Agua de Panela translates to “panela water”) over coffee until it gets to the brim of the French press.

Brew for 4 minutes, stirring once during the time. Push down the French press & pour the coffee straight away.

Colombian coffee beans are most suited for a dark roast.  This due to the fuller, floral flavour, but light roasts made from Colombian beans are equally tasty. While retaining the bean’s taste, cocoa & caramel flavours are brought to the forefront. The flavours and aromas of medium to dark roasts are stronger.

Colombian coffee’s farming conditions & processes make it considered to be the best by many people, especially because of its distinct flavour. Farmers of the Arabica beans produce tasty coffee with excellent quality at high altitudes. They are then naturally processed on little farms by hand. The higher elevation makes for a better tasting bean. Because of its favourable climatic characteristics, Colombian coffee beans are a rich, somewhat fruity, & chocolaty taste.

The caffeine concentration of Colombian coffee is comparable to that of other coffee varieties. The caffeine content of a dark roast coffee is slightly greater than that of a light roast coffee. The difference is minor and may not be noticable. Depending on the sub-variety and degree of roasting, top quality Colombian Arabica coffee has 30-50 mg per each espresso serving and up to 200 milligrams in an 235ml (~8-ounce) cup.

Colombian beans are among the most renound & popular in the world of coffee. They have a full-bodied taste which is well-balanced. Guatemalan beans are more praised for their robust and balanced tastes than for their particular flavour profile. Guatemala coffee is also quite good coffee.

    • The hulling proceedure

Colombian coffee beans are dried under the sun over a few days or until the moisture content gets to about ten%. This aids in the bean’s drying & preps it for hulling. Sumatran coffee spends a lot less time in the sunshine. Sumatran coffee is hulled with substantially greater water content, sometimes as much as twenty percent.

To remove the hulls, special wet hulling equipment is needed. The wet hulling equipment also allows the coffee beans to ferment, giving them a distinct flavor that you will not find anywhere.

    • Acidity and flavour

Colombian coffee has a well-balanced flavour and moderate acidity. This coffee has a bit of a bite to it, but it is not overly harsh. Because of its smooth flavour, several coffee connoisseurs consider Colombian coffee to be among the greatest in the world. Sumatran coffee has a much lower acidity level. This makes it one of the greatest coffees for acid sensitivity.

Sumatran coffee has a distinctive flavour. It has earthy undertones that set it apart from the competition. You will detect hints of bell pepper, mushrooms, and even herbs when drinking Sumatran coffee. The way the coffee is processed and the land in which it is grown contribute to this flavour.

The Colombian coffee area, is named the Coffee Triangle. It is a part of the Colombian Paisa region in the rural area of Colombia. It is renound for growing the majority of Colombian coffee.
