FAQs

Colombian Coffee has a mild acidity and a robust caramel sweetness, often with a nut undertone, similar to high quality Peruvian coffee. Colombian coffee beans have the most identifiable coffee taste in North America, being sweet and medium-bodied.

It is possible to produce strong Colombian coffee in comparison to non-Colombian coffee. The strength of the coffee will depend on the processing, roasting and brewing methods. Therefore, Colombian coffee is just stronger if it is made to be stronger.  Increased amounts of lower-quality beans produce a bitter coffee, yet Colombian coffee maintains its flavour integrity even when pushed via more rigorous and vigorous brewing processes.

These coffee beans make a flavour that is smooth, balanced, and light in body. There are also overtones of fruit, almonds, and dark chocolate in the taste profile.

Colombian coffee beans are among one the finest anywhere. Colombia has a long history of cultivating Arabica coffee beans, and their specific topography makes it perfect for producing a tastey, high-quality beverage. The coffee is known accross the world for its flavour & the destinctive mild but rich aroma that comes from each cup. That may explain why they have been cultivating coffee for about 200 years, & it’s been their highest export for the majority of that period.

Many people consider Costa Rican coffee as the top one in Central America. Altitude classes are given to Costa Rican beans, with the highest rated beans produced at the highest altitude. These beans are referred to as strictly hard beans”.

In a small saucepan, boil water and panela. Panela is a product that is made with sugarcane, it is sweet & brown, is marketed in blocks or grated & the flavour is like that of brown sugar. Reduce heat to low and cook for 30 min, occasionally stirring to melt panela.

In a tiny French press, place the ground coffee. Pour Aguapanela (Aguapanela or Agua de Panela translates to “panela water”) over coffee until it gets to the top of the French press.

allow it to stand for 4 minutes, stirring only once. Plunge the French press and pour the coffee straight away.

Colombian coffee beans are best as a dark roast.  This due to the fuller, floral flavour, however light roasts made from Colombian beans are equally tasty. While retaining the bean’s flavour, cocoa and caramel flavours are brought to the forefront. The tastes & aromas of medium to dark roasts are stronger.

Colombian coffee’s producing conditions and processes make it considered to be the best by a lot of people, particually because of its distinct taste. Farmers of the Arabica beans produce flavourful coffee with outstanding quality at higher altitudes. They are then prepared natually on small farms by hand. The high altitude produces a better flavoured coffee bean. Due to its favourable meteorological characteristics, Colombia coffee beans are a rich, somewhat fruity, & chocolaty taste.

The caffeine content of Colombian coffee is similar to that of other coffee varieties. The caffeine content of a dark roast coffee is a little bit more than that of a light roast coffee. The difference is minor and may not be noticable. Depending on the sub-variety & degree of roasting, top quality Colombian Arabica coffee has 30-50 milligrams per single espresso serving and up to 200 milligrams in an 235ml (~8-ounce) cup.

Colombian beans are among the most renound and popular in the world of coffee. They have a full-bodied flavour that is well-balanced. Guatemalan beans are more known for their robust & balanced flavours than for their particular flavour profile. Guatemala coffee is also quite good coffee.

    • The hulling proceedure

Colombian coffee beans are dried benith the sun over a few days or until the moisture content reaches around 10%. This helps in the bean’s drying & preps it for hulling. Sumatran coffee stays a lot less time in the sun. Sumatran coffee is hulled with significantly higher moisture amount, at times as high as twenty percent.

To remove the hulls, special wet hulling equipment is needed. The wet hulling equipment also allows the coffee beans to ferment, giving them a distinct flavor that you will not find anywhere.

    • Acidity and flavour

Colombian coffee has a well-balanced flavour and moderate acidity. This coffee has a bit of a bite to it, but it is not overly harsh. Because of its smooth flavour, several coffee connoisseurs consider Colombian coffee to be among the greatest in the world. Sumatran coffee has a much lower acidity level. This makes it one of the greatest coffees for acid sensitivity.

Sumatran coffee has a distinctive flavour. It has earthy undertones that set it apart from the competition. You will detect hints of bell pepper, mushrooms, and even herbs when drinking Sumatran coffee. The way the coffee is processed and the land in which it is grown contribute to this flavour.

The Colombian coffee area, is called the Coffee Triangle. It is a part of the Colombian Paisa region in the regional area of Colombia. It is renound for culturing the most of Colombian coffee.
