History of coffee in Central America

Coffee was first brought to Mexico in the late 1700’s originating from Cuba and the Dominican Republic. The country had a quick turnaround with it, exporting coffee beans commercially for the first time as soon as 1802.

Costa Rica
Costa Rica was the first nation in Central America to {haveestablish} a fully operating commercial coffee market. It became a major exporter of coffee throughout the {globe|world{ by the 1820’s.
