Mexico
Coffee was first brought to Mexico in the late seventeen hundreds originating from Cuba & the Dominican Republic. The country made a fast turnaround with the cropit production, exporting coffee industrially for the first time as early as 1802.

Costa Rica
Costa Rica was the first country in the region to {haveestablish} a fully functional commercial coffee market. It became a major exporter of coffee throughout the {globe|world{ by the 1820’s.

Since the launch of the organization Instituto del Café de Costa Rica in 1933, Coffee in Costa Rica has thrived and in had good quality. However, Costa Rica only grows less than 1% of the {globe’sworld’s} coffee.

Costa Rica has some of the toughest and highest standards for farm labourers.

Guatemala
As with most of Central America, Guatemala received coffee in the latter part of the 1700’s. But, as opposed to Mexico, commercial exporting didn’t really take off till the 1860’s when European migrants launched industrial-scale plantations.

Honduras
It is unknown exactly when coffee plants were introduced to Honduras. It’s expected that it was during the late 1700’s, like with other Central American nations, but there’s no specific record. Multiple sources claim 1804 as the initial year that coffee plants were cultivated at significant scale.

Since then, Honduras became the biggest coffee grower in Central America.

El Salvador
El Salvador is the littlest country in Central America. It is not supprising that El Salvador’s coffee market isn’t massive.

Coffee plants came to El Salvador in the mid-1700’s, but really took off after indigo farms declined due to synthetic dyes in the 1800’s. By 1970, coffee farming accounted for 50% of the country’s GDP.
