Arabica beans are farmed in many countries around the globe. Brazil is the largest producer of Arabica.  Even though Arabica is grown in many countries, each nation & region will make a different taste from what is basically the same coffee bush due to their different climates, soils, altitudes, processing methods among other things.

Arabica coffee beans are from the Coffea arabica plant that are commonly know as “mountain coffee” or “arabica coffee”. Arabica coffee makes up about 60% of the global coffee bean production.

The flavour of Arabica beans changes depending on the area, they are generally sweet with notes of coco and sugar. They can also show fruit or berry flavours & can exhibit hints of cereal or nuts.

Arabica tends to have more acidity and less bitterness than Robusta beans which tend to be stronger, harsher and may display grainy or rubbery tastes.

Typically people find the flavour of Arabica to be superior to that of Robusta.

When unroasted, Arabica beans smell like blueberries. The aroma of the roasted beans has been described as perfume like with hints of fruit and sugar. These aromas continue after you brew coffee.

Yes, Arabica beans are typcially more acidic & less bitter than Robusta beans.  The acid are exhibited as fruity flavours. Low acidity types can have a reduced fruity taste.

Arabica coffee beans are commonly considered as superior  tasting than Robusta beans as they have a more refined sweeter & less bitter flavour. However, some blended coffee than include both Arabica and Robusta can exhibit superior taste & are very popular.

Arabica beans contain caffeine but usually less caffeine compared to Robusta beans.

Raw Arabica beans have about 1.2{%percent} caffeine. Raw Robusta beans have about double as much caffeine, at 2.2percent.

Despite the higher amount of caffeine, typically people would rather drink Arabica because it is less bitter and exhibits a superior flavour.

Arabica coffee is most costly than Robusta beans because it is more difficult to cultivate.

Arabica is farmed in colder sub-tropical climates and at a greater altitudes (600-2000m). Robusta however is often grown at sea level and in hotter climates.

Robusta is as its name would suggest ‘robust’ & withstands a broader range of climatic conditions. Robusta is simplier to tend to on the plantation, has a higher bean yield and is more resistant to pest insects.

No, there is a lot of differences between Arabica beans that are farmed in different {countriesnations} and locations. This is due to the different climates, soils & other characteristics associated with their farming and processing.

The roasting proceedure also plays a major part in the taste characteristics of the coffee. Combining different varieties & roasting is both an art and science. Specialist roasters carefully control and adjust all aspects of the roasting proceedure to develop different tastes in their beans and maintain consistency across batches of roasts. Taste differs depending on if it is a light roast, medium roast or dark roast coffee and a range of additional conditions that are regulated during the proceedure.

Darker roasts will show a much richer, bolder taste than lighter roasted beans. Light roast beans usually keep more flavours than darker roasts. This can mean that the marked flavours of the beans from the different locations are be more pronounced in light roasted coffee. This is important to think about when buying coffee beans.
