Arabica beans are produced in many nations around the globe. Arabica is cultivated in colder sub-tropical climates & at a higher altitudes (600-2000m). Robusta however is commonly grown at sea level and in warmer climates.

Robusta is as its name would suggest ‘robust’ and withstands a broader range of climatic conditions. Robusta is simplier to tend to on the plantation, has more bean yield and is more resistant to insects. 

No, there are a lot of differences comparing Arabica beans that are cultured in different {countriesnations} and locations. This is due to the different climates, soils & other characteristics associated with their farming and processing.

The roasting proceedure also plays a major role in the flavour characteristics of the beans. Mixing different varieties and roasting is both an art and science. Specialist roasters carefully control and change every aspect of the roasting process to craft different tastes in their coffee & maintain consistency between batches of coffee. Flavour changes based on if it is a light roast, medium roast or dark roast coffee and a number of other aspects that are controlled during the proceedure.

Darker roasts will have a much richer, bolder flavour than lightly roasted coffee. Light roast coffee will keep more flavours than darker roasts. This means that the distinguishable tastes of the coffee from the different areas can often be more pronounced in lighter roasted beans. This is paramount to consider when buying beans.
