Specialist roasters meticulously control & change all aspects of the roast proceedure to develop different flavours in their beans and ensure consistency between batches of roasts. Flavour changes based on if it is a light roast, medium roast or dark roast coffee and a number of additional aspects that are regulated during the process.

Darker roasts will have a much richer, bolder flavour than lightly roasted beans. Light roast coffee usually keep more flavours than darker roasts. This means that the distinguishable flavours of the beans from the various areas can often be more pronounced in light roasted beans. This is paramount to think about when buying coffee.
